I don’t think they’re as rich as they say or think. Yes there’s money, but it’s old Military money or old oil money. Outside of the typical 50 dollar Aggie to get the stupid sticker on their car, most alumni aren’t giving shite piles of money. The schools get oil money and other income, but it’s not like every Aggie is a millionaire. But even if they are wealthy, their brand sucks, college station is not that great. The funky chicken sucks. The rattle snake in the back is really a worm. It’s a dusty field next to a nice stadium with a lot of pedo arse grabbing buzz cutting old yeller hating, rubbing each others feet together to start a fire lame arse brand, that kids are willing to go a few years to get money because they don’t have any, but truly know they’ll never win a title at anything.

It’s very simple. Yet I doubt anyone, much less Aggie, has enough self-awareness to come to grips with the reality. And that reality is they are a culture, dare I say “cult” of fricking weirdo dorks. And they celebrate the fact that they are fricking
dorks. No successful coach with an ego will ever stay there.

I think the brand is fine. The fact that it might be more out of touch with today's culture is not necessarily a bad thing.

Because they are a certified little brother. That means all the best in state players want to play at Texas. And the ones that dont get to play at Texas have a bunch of other options to play at in state and regionally. And they have the weird culture, which im sure is somewhat cool for in state suburban grads, but does not interest or attract elite athletes. The male cheerleaders is prob 3rd.

Sorry we aren’t hip enough for you.

Not worried about being hip. Just go win championships, And yall cannot do that for some reason.

Do me a favor, list the LSU head coaches that have just come through the football, basketball, and baseball pipeline in the last few years. TAMU has nothing on the level of discontent in BR. And frankly, your men's basketball coach is a dead man walking as we write.

if this post is sparked by Buzz leaving then in fairness to Aggie I don't think Buzz was a true long-term answer for MBB, he left A&M similarly to how he left Marquette and VTech. the way Schloss left could be regarded as stepping stone for sure but I don't think any other Aggie coach in recent memory in the big sports was taken bc of how well they did at A&M

A&M simply doesn't hire that well across the board. It's hard to hit home run hires in all 3 sports, Aggie just hasn't hired amazing candidates recently. getting a new AD would be a way to change the program for the better

Hard to come up with a theory, since A&M can match $$$ with anyone.

Just bad luck.

It's the weird culture that holds them back.

It doesn't help that they are the Charlie Brown of the SEC.
