To be fair, I think there are about 5-10 schools that a mediocre coach can go to and win a National Championship.

LSU has proven to be one of them

Dude, he had pretty good talent at Notre Dame and cherry picked his schedule.

Weird….. “Pretty good” is such an arbitrary term to support a rather weak argument.

BK choked against an A&M team that was dead last in the conference and you think he is going to win a natty?

So because he lost to A&M that one time, he’s disqualified forever from winning the national title? First time I’ve ever heard that one!

Right, and if he was a halfway decent coach he would capitalize at least once.

LSU isn’t the same program it was under Saban and Miles. Those teams were built differently. 2019 was a fluke and I think you all secretly know that. You guys don’t have the funds to compete in the NIL era.

I mean he's building a pretty decent class right now.

Weird...
Yeah it is. Especially since ND had the 5th most guys on NFL rosters entering last year.

Top ten schools with players on 2021 NFL Rosters:

Alabama - 53
Ohio State - 47
LSU - 46
Georgia - 35
Notre Dame - 34
Clemson - 33
Iowa - 33
Florida - 32
Michigan - 32
Oklahoma - 31
Penn State - 31

Brian Kelly's record vs. these teams before this season:
Alabama - 0-2
Ohio St - 0-1
LSU - 2-0
Georgia - 0-2
Clemson - 1-3
Michigan - 3-4
Oklahoma - 1-1
DNP: Iowa, Florida, Penn State

Total record: 7-13 (.350 winning percentage)

Record vs. teams with fewer players on NFL rosters: 5-8 (.385 winning percentage)
Record vs. teams with more players on NFL rosters: 2-5 (.285 winning percentage; all wins vs. LSU)

Casuals parrot this line but leave out the fact that those numbers included very few skill position players.

Impossible to compete with the elite teams in CFB without elite talent at the skill positions.

Not really. Where is LSU playing on New Year’s Eve?

Eighteen less than Bama is a pretty significant disadvantage. If it weren’t for the academic disadvantages, the playing field would possibly be more even in a lot of those “big games.” It was a pretty remarkable job he did at Notre Dame, considering the circumstances. Good thing he’s at LSU now (third on list despite incompetent coaches).

And with a national championship ring. Don’t forget that.

If O can win a nc at lsu then Donald Duck or any one of the Three Stooges could too. This proves your point.

We literally won a natty last year without elite guys at skill positions on offense.

That’s how I feel about it. NIL may change things but so far we seem to be doing fine.

LSU should never lack talent.

Y’all had a 5 star running back who backed up a 5 star running back that was backing up a 5 star running back.

What are you talking about?

We had Brock Bowers. I'd say he's pretty goddamn elite.

Casuals would say exactly what you just posted, without actually looking to see if this was accurate.

2018 ND had a QB, 2 RBs, 5 WRs, 4 TEs, 5 LBs, and 4 DBs who all made an active or practice squad NFL roster. Is 21 skill position players off of one team not enough skill position talent?

We’re favored to win our second ring….so nah, most of us have forgotten 2018 and 2019. You can’t seem to realize that those years are in the past though….

His comment was silly, but this is not even close to true either.

Zeus was a 5-star.

Cook, KMac, Milton, and Edwards are 4-stars
