It all depends on the tone with which it is delivered.

I have had "ROLL TIDE" screamed at me from total strangers, etc. as I have traveled the US, they mean it as a taunt.

I usually just give them a look, shake my head and move on.

Getting style advise from the fan base with the highest percentage of red cars, I mean crimson, per capital. The first time I went to t-town I honestly was confused as to why so many cars were some variant of red.

I say War Eagle when I see other Auburn fans. I don't get saying whatever your battle cry is to a person of another fan base.

If I see someone with Bama gear on, I'll ask if they're from Alabama too. That's about it.

I'm in sales and if I'm traveling for work and am wearing one of my LSU shirts or caps, it'll usually be after hours or if we're playing golf.

I just use these situations as a conversation starter. These are two of my favorite match-ups of the season so there is plenty to talk about.

that's not possible. i've been told that Bama fans are all rednecks who have never left the state. how would you see them when you travel the US? oh! you mean the bandwagon/sidewalk fans they have just b/c they win? dumb gumps.

seriously, though, i've been all over and have seen Bama fans and AU fans in multiple states. I usually give both a smile and a "Roll Tide". They smile and return the expression in kind. It is rarely ever done as a taunt.

I usually say something about shouldn't you be fricking your sister right now.

When I'm in Louisiana on a project with my Arkansas hat on all the dumb cajuns think it's an Alabama "A" on the front.

This happens all of the time when Im in Alabama for a project and happen to be wearing an LSU hat or shirt. I usually just laugh, or say " We are going to get you this year". I really don't feel like saying "Go Tigers" every time. What do you guys say?

Are you an engineer or work in IT? If so, then I completely understand why you don't know how to manage a fairly simple social interaction. Here's some help - wipe the Cheetos dust from your face (use a napkin; don't use the sleeve of your Battlestar Galactica t-shirt that doesn't cover your gut), muster up all your courage and make brief eye contact, remove your fedora, and reply "Live long and prosper." Then, spend the rest of your sweaty day figuring out what you should have said and come back to this board and tell us all a great story about how some rude Gump or Barner or whatever tried to get your goat and how you put him in his place.

If you aren't in engineering or IT, try to figure out how the Alabama or Auburn fan got into your parents' basement, which you never leave.

They only say that because lsu jerseys seem to. E the only clothing you lsu fans wear. I have. Ever seen another fan base wear their jerseys at the beach while in vacation. Try buying a button down or Polo and you won't get bullied so much.

You must not get around that much. The percentage of Alabama fans who were jerseys in everyday life is higher than those who wear LSU jerseys. Can't remember the last time I saw an Alabama fan walking around in an Alabama polo.
