We just suck. Lemonis has tanked our program after he got his players in. I could've coached our NC team and gotten that team there.

in 2017 Florida lost mid week games to the following teams
Jacksonville
UCF
FGCU - twice
USF
and was the #3 overall seed in the tournament. Weekend games are what matters most. And it always depends on what all the other teams are doing somewhat as well.

Losing a few mid-week games a season never hurt anyone.
In LSU’s last 2 National Championship seasons (2009 & 2023) LSU lost to both Nicholls and ULL in mid-week games. Didn’t hurt us one bit losing those 2 games.

I think midweek games can hurt if you’re on the cusp of hosting a regional, maybe. Probably not.

Midweek games don’t matter (and neither do home losses to Stony Brook) but a loss to Grand Canyon in the first game of the season on the road matters bigly.

South Alabama is alright for what they are. They get into a Regional every once in awhile. Southern Miss is better than they have any right to be lately. They make a Regional just about every year, and they're looking for their third straight Super Regional right now.

LSU Baseball 2023 lost to Nicholls State in a midweek game last season...a national championship season.
As for me, I only put stock in SEC games and NCAA Ty games.
