So it's Nick's fault that he comes in 100 years after the game is innovated? There are already hundreds of rules to prevent what he does in recruiting and scholarships. Nick Saban is a sneaky bastard and Knute Rockne could never dream to do what Nick Saban is doing. Besides, KR was famous in a time where competition sucked balls. Nick already has 2 teams that can at least be in consideration for Top 10 all time in CFB history.

You're right. That LSU team sucked. They only got in on luck

2007 LSU lost 2 games, and 2009 Bama was saved by a bad Tennessee kicker.

I agree. Just like 2/3 of Bama's last titles.

the game is always innovating and changing. Nick Saban has not come up with anything in terms of X's and O's that has changed the game on the level that would make him a GOAT.

He's the greatest of the BCS era for sure, and one of the GOATS.

But to completely separate himself from guys like Bear, Bowden, Osborne, or even Paterno, he REALLY needs more than 1 undefeated season IMO.

He's won 4 titles, impressive no matter how they went down, but he got huge bailouts in 3 of them to get in position to win.

I've also always found it lacking that Saban has never had a win streak of even 20 games.

When you talk of the all time dynasties, there are several teams that have won 30+ games in a row, including teams in the BCS era, and dozens that have won 20-30.

Saban needs to get a long streak like that, especially since he bills himself and his teams as these meticulously prepared, one game at a time, machines.

I just think it's hard to buy that company line when he's due for a slip up every year.

Especially this year. If he can't run the table against Bama's schedule, I honestly don't think he'd deserve to back in to another NCG.

Imo fwiw

A couple of more titles for sure, but I think more wins over time. Spurrier has 208 wins and is 58th on the all time win list, Saban is not close to that at this point and I doubt he cares.

Now is he the greatest in the last 20 years, yes, I would likely give him that today without question.

I disagree. It's the championships that count. 20 years from now it won't matter that Bama had the luck of the Irish to get back into the title game when they had untimely losses.
