Florida; hot, loud, and miserable.

Death Valley doesn't scare anybody anymore.

Crazy as it sounds but as a Bama fan I've always hated going to south carolina. When we have been there it's as loud as any place in the conference and they always play out of their got dam minds.
LSU is loud but the team plays well there. Their trashy, drunk, vulgar fans make it a shitty place to have to play.
As far as toughest place to play, THE SINGLE MOST overrated stat in football is home field advantage. It has zero bearing on the outcome. Games are usually won by the team with the fewest turnovers and the most talent. The crowd doesn't play one down. I have never, ever heard BDS stay as loud for as long as it did during the 03 oklahoma game. Oklahoma played flawlessly. Didn't have a single false start, whites passes were perfect and communication was excellent amoung the ou players. Crowd means nothing to a well coached, well prepared, more talented team.

Maybe the only time I've ever been on the field was Notre Dame BCS Title game and I was in the corner sideline field seats and the ND fans never got very loud.
That's because the age of the average Notre Dame fan is dead.
Homefield advantage is an incredibly overrated thing, you're either loud or you're not. If you're loud, cool, there's something there, but it doesn't matter how much louder it gets.
If you're a big-time team in a big stadium with a ton of people like Notre Dame and fail to get loud, because of all the rich, old fricks, well then that could hurt you I guess.

When I went to the swamp for the '13 game I didn't think it was that loud.

The Swamp was rocking after Brantley hit Dubose for a 70yd TD on the first play of the game.
That was the loudest I've ever heard a stadium get. My ears literally popped.
Death Valley is the toughest to play. Jordan Hare comes in 2nd.

Long read and old article, but Ben Hill Griffin Stadium was designed to maximize the volume of the crowd.

The toughest venue overall is indeed @LSU.
It's quite perplexing that Alabama has been immune to it. You could argue that a large part of that is just due to the fact Alabama has traditionally had the stronger team, but lots of strong programs have struggled there over the years. Their home field advantage is very real.
Florida and Tennessee also have very strong home field advantages IMO.
As a dark horse I'll also throw in MSU and Starkville. MSU can be a gigantic bitch to play in Starkville even when they are bad and your team is great. Alabama has to win ugly in Starkville all the damn time, even with far superior teams.
Alabama's home field advantage is pretty mediocre IMO. Our glowing home record has historically just been due to having a vastly superior team, not because of the hostile atmosphere.
Oh we can get it going sometimes, but we don't bring it week in and week out like at other places.

Seems a little extreme. What game was that? Pre-game? Dooley Era vs FCS?
That was the end of the 38-7 massacre LSU handed Dooley's team in 2011. The height of the Dooley era.

I've been to every SEC Stadium except Mizzu. Of those these are the ones the get so loud, you can't really tell one is any louder than the next:
Alabama*
Auburn
Florida
Georgia
LSU
South Carolina
Tennessee
Each of these places can reach noise levels that are just incredible and on a whole other level from other SEC stadiums.
* I put Bama on the list as being loud post-expansion. Before they expanded, BDS was not very loud. Since they've expanded though it holds in a lot more noise than it did before.

Bama's loudest is going to be as loud as any stadium In the country. Having seen big games at Tiger Stadium, Jordan Hare, Sanford stadium, and BDS I can reasonably deduct that. I was at tiger stadium in 2010, 2012, and 2014. It was loud the entire game for the most part, which is impressive. From a decibel standpoint I've heard Bryant Denny just as loud though. We don't holler on 1st down in the second quarter, I think the general belief is that our defense is good enough that they don't need our help yet. That's my reasoning anyway, if I can avoid a headache and sore throat and we still win them I'm all for it. If we feel like they need our help, (Auburn 2010, A&M 2012, UT 2015) or if we're just thoroughly buzzed from the arse kicking we're delivering (auburn 2014, LSU 2013) then Bryant Denny can be a hornets nest

Alabama right now because of talent and coaching. Pure environment, LSU is the toughest.
