That Mizzou got a seat at the big boy's table in the SEC. Mizzou fans should thank their lucky stars that cable boxes were all the rage in the conference expansion game back in 2011 when the Big 12 collapsed. I know Mizzou gets a ton of grief about being "not SEC", but we love it here.

1. Lack of rules surrounding NIL/transfers. There should be one portal window per season - in the spring. And once a player enters the Portal, they should be banned from doing it again the following cycle.
2. Coaching fires/hires during the middle of the season. Should make a rule that programs can't make new hires until after the playoffs are finished, aside from emergency situations. It's incredibly disruptive and isn't fair to fans or players.
3. Playoff/bowl format - just adopt the FCS playoff, get rid of conference championship games, dump the remaining bowls, and be done with it.

I like that Auburn and LSU can’t make the playoffs and are a mediocre team on a regular basis. Gives me the warm and fuzzies.

Like . . .more parity. The Vandys and Ga Techs and Indianas of the world being in the mix makes it all more fun.
The dislike . . . The NIL angle turning a lot of potentially productive players into lazy, campus hopping, and often unproductive roster garbage.

I’m grateful for college football. I hate none of it.
That stated, I like the expanded playoffs. But I’d prefer some changes in how teams are selected.
I’d also prefer more strict rules around player transfers and NIL.

Love - I love that you can get almost every major conference game on your TV with a somewhat basic package. I live in Texas and have no problem seeing almost every SEC/ACC/B1G/Big 12 game I would like
Dislike - Something needs to be done with the calendar. You have the Lane Kiffin Ole Miss/LSU thing which is just difficult for all sides involved. The one transfer portal is 1/2 through 1/16, when the best teams are still playing. Are kids going to transfer off of the teams still in the playoffs and leave in the middle of a run? Are those teams at a huge disadvantage in getting new transfers in? Why was National signing day the week of CCGs? It could have literally been today when no teams are playing.

That still doesn't solve the problem of when to hire coaches.
If a school waits until after the championship game to hire a coach, not only would that new coach have missed both national signing day and the transfer portal, but he wouldn't be able to replace players lost to the portal after losing their HC. He'd have a depleted roster for his entire first season. That's completely unworkable. ALL player and coach movement should happen after the championship game.

So if you fire your coach midseason do you have to wait until February to replace that coach? You need to have the early enrollees on campus in January but they won't do that without a coach in place.
I think they just need to figure it all out.

Yes. If they can't be replaced until the end of the season, maybe they won't be fired mid-season so much. Either way, it doesn't really matter. How do they do it in the NFL?

Tough, then no more early enrollees.
Maybe no more early enrollees, no more early signing, probably not much you can do about transfers mid-academic year. It seems that most academic spring semesters begin before the championship - unless they change the date of the championship.
Coaches get signed after the championship. Signing day comes a month or so after that. Transfers during the summer.

That seems to be where the problem is.
