Danielson is very knowledgeable and usually spot on even though he is annoying as h*ll. He is the current day Howard Cosell.
While I somewhat get the comparison,I just don't think it holds up.
Gary is tireless when it comes to game preparation and film study.Howard was flat out lazy and made pompous, outrageous statements because of his ego and said it in very dramatic fashion but both do seem to elicit dramatic reactions from viewers.

I'll miss the opening music

I miss Ron Franklin. Best football commentator ESPN had. Now they have a bunch of dumb shits that like to hear their own voice too much and bring little substance to the game. Great sports commentating is gone.

quote:Is Danielson drunk in the press box while he's calling games? Did Danielson ever throw up all over Verne's shoes the way Cosell did with Meredith? If not, then he's no Cosell, who was sloppy as hell his last few years on MNF.
CBS’ quality puts ESPN to shame. Danielson is very knowledgeable and usually spot on even though he is annoying as h*ll. He is the current day Howard Cosell.

CBS was getting the game of the week for a bargain. That is why the SEC left. They didn't really want to pay up. SEC went with ABC, ESPN Disney
I suspect that we will come to regret that decision. Never a good idea to give Disney as much power as they now have by having all our TV rights.

My least favorite thing about ESPN is that they still have a ticker on the bottom. We have the internet now, I can keep up with other scores on my phone.

Agree, but Sean McDonough & Todd Blackledge are a good team and hopefully we'll see/hear them the most (McShay gets the mute)

CBS had the best broadcast. Old school espn was good when you had the best all time team of
Ron Franklin
Mike Gottfreid
Adrian Karstan
when these guys were on the call it was awesome. If you are younger, go watch a game on youtube they called THE GOAT TEAM!!
now hopefully ESPN buys the CBS theme song. That needs to happen and be played for the game of the week.

I'll miss it, unless ESPN is better, and then I won't.

I hate Danielson, but I hate ESPN too. So, sucks either way.

I was about to make fun of how you won’t see your annual Arkansas game anymore
Why wouldn't I see that game? Our conference has a its own network. Isn't that a requirement to be considered a P5 conference?

I'll miss it on CBS big time.....when you heard the music intro, you knew were watching the SEC, liked Vern and the coverage is always decent.
Plus no Beth Mowins on CBS lol!
