What are you seasoning your beef, pork, chicken and fish with today?

Allow me to suggest an Arkansas classic

Cavender's Greek Seasoning

Put it on your scrambled eggs too

That shite is great to put on fried, over easy, or scrambled eggs, sliced tomatoes, pork, etc.

My grandma used to make a sandwich with her leftover pork roast. It was white bread, mayonnaise, a slice of tomato seasoned with Cavenders, a slice of white cheddar, a slice of pork roast. Best damn sandwich ever.

Are you still on a bender from yesterday?

Just make sure to give the keys up and don't drive

As to the seasoning, I have used it and not bad but I know some mad Greeks who make a better seasoning in Cincinnati. Like the "Soup Nazi" from Seinfeld, they are not likely to share it.

The other day, I was excited because I thought the doctor prescribed me ‘daily sex’. Unfortunately, my wife pointed out that it was a diagnosis for ‘dyslexia.’ I feel your pain.

Yesterday? Salt, pepper, fresh chopped garlic on quail in cast iron.

Today? Bacon wrapped quail on the grill.

In the spirit of this thread, I may sprinkle some Cavender’s on the birds today to see what happens.

I guess I'll finally give it a go. I've had a container of this that mysteriously appeared in my pantry probably 5 years ago and it's been sitting in a corner with the other unused spices I've yet to throw out or do something with. Thanks for the heads up. Any recommendation on what meat you think it pairs best with? Deciding between chicken, ribeye, or some wild caught rainbow trout for dinner tonight. Is it a stronger flavored seasoning or mild? TIA

Boiling shrimp with corn, potatoes and sausage. Also making New Orleans BBQ shrimp with French bread. And to top it off we’re going to char broil some oysters. I don’t know if it gets any better than that for NFC and AFC playoffs. Lots beer of course. Geaux Burrow and Chase!!

My father was one of the special customers who'd get some when Spike was making it in a sink. I think we'd return the bottle and he'd just fill it back up. Pretty sure that my father was also Spike's attorney. I grew up on Cavenders in the 70's and have always loved it.
