What a disaster of a hire and shame on our fans for accepting mediocrity

I want the school I graduated from to be successful, I want to storm the field and win championships. I want nothing but good things for the program. 10 years ago we had an undefeated season and a national title, 7 years ago we were within 13 seconds of winning another national title. In the last 50 years we have had three heisman trophy winners, Bo Jackson, Pat Sullivan and Cam Newton. Auburn is not a slouch of a school , it is not a place where 5 loss seasons every year are acceptable. When Gus was still around, I wanted him gone in 2018 because I knew that 5 loss seasons were his ceiling. At the time there were a number of people who supported Malzahn and wanted him to stay on as the head coach and the reason? They said who are we going to go out and get who would be better? I gawked at that assumption at the time but now it's starting to make sense. Also some of the Gus supporters seemed content with mediocrity and blamed it on Saban which is a really poor excuse in my book.
We fired gus because, like I said 5 loss seasons every year were not acceptable. So I thought the logical solution would be to hire a coach who could take us farther than Gus could take us. There have been quite a few stories out in the news lately about the search, that we got turned down by Billy Napier, Bill Clark and that Hugh Freeze was not interested. Our PTB was not interested in finding a coach to help us compete at a championship level, they want a coach that is a yes man.
So in comes Bryan Harsin, a man who has no p5 head coaching experience, coming from the mountain west. I can think of numerous other coordinators out there who are in p5 programs and who would be better options. Auburn paid Gus Malzahn 21 million dollars to leave only to hire the guy from Boise State? Is that seriously the best we could do? The SEC and mountain west are very different situations. How are we going to recruit with this guy? Every other coach in the SEC west made a name of themselves. I legitimately did not know who Bryan Harsin was until today. If he comes in and starts winning football games and competing at a high level, you can mark this post and tell me I was wrong but I have no reason to believe that Harsin is any better than Gus Malzahn. Do you think Malzahn would succeed at Boise State? Yes he would. To me it seems like the 1st 2nd and 3rd options were not interested so they decided to settle for him. The only other coach in the SEC west that had no name recognition to me is Sam Pittman, I had no idea who he was.
So, I may be wrong but I think we found ourselves another Malzahn and as an alumni who loves Auburn and know our fanbase is hungry for a championship, this is just incredibly frustrating. I thought we had some catching up to do after what Fisher, Orgeron and Smart are doing at their programs.
Its a good thing im going to grad school at another university so I can root for their program instead, Auburn has become toxic

Why didn't you just sign it RTR. We all see thru it.

I’m kind of astounded by how many people who apparently had no idea who Harsin is.
Feels good to be well read

FWIW, I do not believe you are an Auburn fan.
It’s really embarrassing and sleazy that Bama fans do this type of stuff. Like clockwork, and it’s super easy to spot.

I do applaud the courage it took to write out your comprehensive thoughts.
But I do disagree.
