Once at Arkansas State, where he won the Sun Belt. And once at Boise State, and they went on to finish 9-4 while winning their bowl game.
76-24 overall. 3 Mountain West titles, 1 Sun Belt title. Fiesta Bowl win.
He literally left his dream job to come compete in the SEC. Dude was born in Boise, player in Boise and coached in Boise. I see a guy with fire that knows he can only go so far at his dream job, and he wanted to branch out to the SEC to compete among the best.
I hope it’s a good hire. It might or might not be, but we will see.
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: on paper, he has a better resume than Gus Malzahn and Gene Chizik had.

Not reading that, but nothing you can do but wait and see. He may suck, but maybe he will surprise. He is a good offensive coach. I don’t know if he is good enough to win at Auburn. At least it isn’t Malzahn.

Weak hire. No ties to the South (i.e. recruiting). Unproven. Lackluster year at Arky St. Underachieved at Boise. Boise is set up nicely like NDSU. They should always dominate. Petersen and Dan Hawkins did far better. Every SEC fan should approve. Boise fans even wanted him gone.

Who else was AU going to get? Like it or not AU is a middle of the road sec school that thinks they are elite. Not exactly a premier job but premier expectations in a premier league, and direct rival to the premier team in all of football.

From watching Harsin's old pressers and interviews I can tell right away he is no imbecile. Does that mean in itself he will be great? No. Tom Herman is a member of Mensa and is struggling to keep Texas afloat. But I'd rather have a smart guy than a dumb guy.

Here is the correct attitude. There have been plenty of "Flavor of the Month" hires that have failed miserably, and many hires that showed little promise that, in the right situation, blossomed and did well. You really never know until you get them on campus.

I don’t know his resume but let the man run his program, keep boosters out of the team and maybe he can do well.

Congratulations Auburn - Harsin has done more with 2 and 3 star talent than perhaps any other coach. He’ll do well on the Plains.
