Auburn gets the rep for being a back up school for Georgia kids, but damn there were a lot of kids I knew or knew of that went to Ole Miss.

We are in north Texas and my kid is applying inside Texas and it’s almost impossible to get into Texas and A&M isn’t far behind.
That’s why Arkansas, Ole Miss and OU/Okie State have so many from north Texas. Arkansas is like north Texas 2.0. 4.5 hours away and easy to get in to.

I poke fun at Auburn for football all the time, but the veterinary school is supremely legit.
I know this is anecdotal, but a friend of mine graduated from Auburn as a veterinary surgeon, and she's saved many a pet's life including one of mine. For that alone, off the field and court, Auburn has my respect.
So it doesn't surprise me they get a lot of folks from states even as far as Texas.

Alabama at 42,000? Does that include UAH and what not?

No Alabama's enrollment is at 42,000. That is Tuscaloosa. LSU's enrollment is at 42,000 as well. LSU, Ole Miss, Alabama and Tennessee are pulling a lot of kids from the Northeast now who want to go to a southern school

Oh yeah, that includes Distance Learning (7K) and Main Campus (35K). They don't have it broken out though when it comes to the states and percentages

According to the link it looks like it includes both distance learning (whatever that is) and main campus

The state of Kentucky doesn't have any vet schools. Instead, Auburn reserves a number of enrollments for Kentucky residents. Don't know the details of the arrangement.

I would have thought that the number of horses in Kentucky would at least have one vet school there. That's pretty surprising.

The state of Arkansas does not have any dental schools. The University of Tennessee holds slots for Arkansas residents at Tennessee's dental school in Memphis

Agreed, that's odd.
LSU has an excellent vet school, but it has a less than a 10% admission rate. Really tough to get in.
