You act as if this offensive line is what we are used to. We replaced all five lineman this year and have had injury problems on top of that.

Of course we aren’t SEC ready. We happened to have come into this season with the worst offensive line I can remember at OU.

The NFL is full of former OU offensive linemen who are pro bowl caliber players. Best left tackle in the game is an OU guy and future hall of famer. Best center is an OU guy. One of the best guards is an OU guy. Our former offensive lineman make more money than all of Texas’s NFL players combined.

I'm not talking about your past. I'm talking about THIS YEAR. The OL is not physical enough yet. I'm sure in the next few years, they will be light years better. Just stating what I have seen from them THIS YEAR.

Former OU OL players in the NFL have zero to do with this year's line.

Why would heupel put them on cruise control? Because he’s a nice guy? He loves OU?

He put them on conservative because he saw how much OUs offense sucked and realized he didn’t have to risk turnovers (they had multiple) to put points on the board.

He saw that you can let this team back into the game with a freshman talent gunslinging all over the field. So I raise you and say Heupel KNEW what could happen if he didn’t dial it down.

Yup, but Gabriel also turns those turnovers into 10-14 points.

With Gabriel, UT scores 50 points.

Is adopting a "we could have scored more points but we just didn't want to" outlook normal for Tennessee fans? Sounds kinda Aggie-ish, if we're being honest.

One would think y'all could just be happy you won, but I suppose that some coping is necessary than having to come to grips with the fact that your vaunted offense was shut down for the vast majority of the game. Y'all literally scored the same amount of touchdowns as our incompetent offense. Not a good look if you're actually thinking of winning championships this year.

Well, we beat your champion last year at their house, so there's that.

One-off games can go either way, especially when a better team with a tough schedule faces off against a lesser team who played creampuffs all year.

The wear and tear starts rearing its ugly head mid season, and only gets worse. You're about to find that out.

Even your easy first season gimme schedule will be ten times harder than anything you've ever gone through before. You're in the SEC now, princess.

Prepare thy anus.

There are dumb fans and realist fans. I thought we were terrible against Houston and Tulane. Hawkins might be our only saving grace to keep the offense’s light bulb on moving forward.

You didn’t score more points because you couldn’t.

Our defense is better than yours. If it wasn’t for the most embarrassing excuse I’ve ever seen for an offense, you would’ve gotten run out of the building.

But that’s hypothetical and that didn’t happen. OU lost and we moved on. For whatever reason your fanbase can’t get over it.

Very little brother of you.

Not SEC ready is generally used to say that they lack size or physicality in their program as in you thought you were good but you aren’t ready for the SEC.

To use that phrase for a unit that is having to rebuilt is odd. Not how most use it.

I will leave it at that.

It has zero to with what conference we are in… zero … it has everything to do with having a highscool oc . You just played a game in the loudest stadium in 2 years per the tv crew. That’s a big 12 stadium …. We also held you like 25 points under what you have been averaging and we turned it over countless times …. Again none of that has anything to do with a new conference …. Keep telling urself that.

I agree w this post. Has nothing to do with conference and everything to do with a bad OL. OU defense was pretty stout though and kept them in the game to the very end.

Anyway it’s comical to hear some of yall call Texas arrogant. Some of yall need to get over yourselves. For about the last 10-15 years there’s basically been 3 consistently good teams out of 14. Bama, Georgia (last 5 years), LSU. Couple flashes in the pan from 1-2 others in that period.

And the loudest up here are the Arkansas fans. Yall haven’t done crap since you left the SWC back in the early 90s.

Ooof melt some more. It was two teams in the top 15 which happen to be both in the SEC (now). You cannot sit there and say your first SEC game, andddd previous coach, had zero input (might I add again, two top 15 teams). Okay, you held us to 25 points? When did you guys score again? The fourth quarter? We sure did turn the ball over, but still came out with the win. I guess you’re down playing your own team considering they were ranked 15th, but go off.

So they should have hope.

Just make sure you watch the game today mongoloid. OU is going to look like second half when Tn had no answer with Hawkins at QB. That being said OU played perennial NC winners yearly for decades and decades before the big 12 split.
