Well, he’d have an opportunity to at least. Since he lives just down the road from me in the spicewood hill country. Not sure he would set foot In college station.

No one from texas thinks Austin is part of the hill country Wrong, Idiot!!!

No real Texan would say that. Hill country starts NW of San Marcos. Yes, about 75-100 miles NW of San Marcos and ~ 50 miles NW of, and Including Austin.

Travis is ok, probably the 3rd best lake but it’s been completely trashed and it’s full of trashy people
First, reply to Sarge...

The eastern edge of the Texas Hill Country is well defined by the rather abrupt transition from ~1,500 ft elevation hills to the ~450 ft elevation of the coastal plain that stretches to the Gulf Coast. Georgetown is as far north as I've ventured, but I think these same features extend further north.

San Gabriel River, Georgetown, Texas, ~ 30 miles north of Austin. Notice the clear, spring fed water, limestone cliffs, and the topography, which some refer to as hills.

Brushy Creek, Round Rock, Texas, ~ 15 miles north of Austin. Spring water seeping out from the lifestone face. Notice the orientation of the cliff is vertical, indicative of changing elevations, which some refer to as hills.

Barton Springs, Austin, less than 2 miles from the State Capitol, the mouth of which empties into the Colorado River (Lady Bird Lake) immediately south of downtown. Notice the crystal clear, spring fed water issuing from the limestone formations rising vertically from the water, commonly referred to as hills.

Barton Springs flows between 10-80,000,000 gallons of water per day. It is one of the defining characteristics of the Texas Hill Country (Hills, limestone and cool, clear spring water) and the reason the State of Texas made Austin the Capitol. Barton Springs & Creek in the foreground, Austin in the background.

Jacobs Well, Wimberly, Texas 15, miles south of Austin. don't have a picture of the hills, but the clear water sprong should be evident.

Out of towners now residing in Austin, including the aggys who claim "they own Lake Travis."

St. Edward's University, sits on one of most prominent hills in Austin. The State Capitol Grounds and the University of Texas reside on the others.

You probably live in a spec home outside of Kyle

You clearly don’t know anything about the hill country

Can y'all stop with the politics? Why must everything be a political culture war to you people? You can't just chill the hell out and enjoy the company of people who don't share your same political beliefs? The USA is supposed to be pluralistic. We let people do what they want in America as long as they're not hurting anyone else.

Your side started this war. Your side fricks up everything nice in our country. Your side will eventually frick it all up and it's leftist ideology is hurting and killing American values. That's why I don't and won't enjoy anybody that votes democrat.

The worst part about Austin is, University Of Austin, and the politicians that run it. Other than that it seems nice.

I have never cheered for bama in live to win a game. But you Texas fricks are making it hard on me for this one not to actually openly pull for Bama against you cattle frickers.

Can't agree more, but the University of Austin is its own distinct thing with no relationship to the University of Texas

The University of Austin was founded to promote freedom of speech. What do you have against free speech?

The lakes and "streams" in Texas are nothing more than moccasin/gar soup. Great places to swim if you like brain eating amoeba.

The rivers in East Texas are muddy but several of the rivers around the Hill Country are pristine. They're spring-fed, crystal clear, and cold. Good call

I always get a belly laugh whenever I see someone from Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama making fun of Austin.

And we always get a kick out of Austinites thinking we are pumped about coming there and should consider ourselves blessed. It's the state capital in Austin. Another city. Nothing more.

Yes, it is ironic. When I can rent out my pretty mediocre condo 10 minutes from downtown Austin for 3x my mortgage payment, it was a no-brainer for me. If you spent the last 3 years in every shite oil town in West Texas, you would probably want a change of scenery also. My family still owns 800 acres in the Hill Country & that's where I will end up...but I had a good opportunity in Huntsville & I like it.

Austin is a shite hole. Dallas is where it’s at. McKinney is a paradise compared to most of the south.

Dripping Springs is the gateway to the hill country. You'd know that if you ever drove 290 west out of Austin. Please stay there as we don't want you liberal dildos wandering out of your town.
