Weis supporting Stoops - let's actually do the "numbers" comparison.

Both of them are trolling, surely, they cannot believe what is coming out of their mouths.
What was it Stoops said, "eight out of our ten went to bowls."
How would it actually break-down if the two conferences went head-to-head. (Total conjecture, total hypothetical, but it's the off-season and there are no baseball games until tonight. Sorry if germans.)
First, how should each team be paired? (no particular order here, just trying to make the best match-ups, so don't anybody get their panties in a wad (:::: cough, UGA fans, cough ::::)
Secondly, who would win each match-up?
Alabama vs Oklahoma?
LSU vs Oklahoma State?
South Carolina vs West Virginia? (old OOC rivalry)
A&M vs Texas? (old Big 12 rivalry)
UF vs TCU?
Georgia vs Kansas State?
UT/Arkansas vs Iowa State?
Ole Miss/Miss State vs Texas Tech?
Vandy/Auburn vs Baylor?
Kentucky/Mizzou vs Kansas?
There is no way, that you can cut it, that the Big 12 has an argument for being better "top to bottom" than the SEC. No way can you cut it that they would win - not even half of those games - and more likely imho, the SEC would win 8 outta 10 if not 10 outta 10 of those matchups.
Besides, I bet Stoops had to cringe with Weis backing-him-up in the press.
Eta correction: (Yes, I meant Kansas State, thanks, added Mizzou begrudgingly, )
Also, just to be clear, I'm not picking the games, I'm just asking if these are the proper match-ups and who would win each match-up. I've already stated we (the SEC) would win eight out of ten, if not all ten.

you kidding?
the only thing more fun than crushing OU in the Cotton would have been to thrash the shite out of those people from Austin.
as for Weis?

I just see it like this: The top 6 teams are so good that they beat the shite out of everyone else in the conference. That's why the bottom 6 teams look so bad, nobody lost a game to them. Unlike the Big whatever they are that was full of mediocrity/parody. And some of their schedules were hilarious.
A&M finished what, 5th or 6th in the SEC and absolutely DESTROYED the 2nd place Sooners.

It'd probably go something like this: I bolded the teams that would win those matchups.
Alabama vs Oklahoma?
LSU vs Oklahoma State?
South Carolina vs West Virginia? (old OOC rivalry)
A&M vs Texas? (old Big 12 rivalry)
UF vs TCU?
Georgia vs Baylor?
UT vs Iowa State?
Ole Miss vs Texas Tech
Vandy/Kentucky vs Kansas
Arkansas/Miss State vs Colorado

Not in the least.
Hope we don't play 'em again.
Unless maybe in a bowl.

Technically, OU was big12 champs last year.

I don't get the Big12ish argument. Our Top 6 are better than their Top 6 and I bet our bottom 8 could take most of their bottom 4, at least on a 1 our of 2 ratio.
I mean really, if their 2nd place team got clobbered by the SEC's 5th/6th best team, what hope do they really have. They had Texas beat Ole Miss, but UT was their 3rd best team and Ole Miss was the SEC's 9th best team. It's not comparing apples to apples, UT was supposed to win that game. However, when aTm, who was 5th/6th in the conference beat their 2nd ranked team in OU, it was more of an upset.

not really a rivalry, but we've at least played them 11 times, which is more than we played the other Big12ish teams.

Just my opinion. Not sure how/why you teased out "childish" from it, but hey, I'm good with it.

well when you say I hope we never play them again except for maybe in a bowl it sure comes across as the same type of butthurt pouring out of the 40 acres.

Perhaps your inner Dawg is clouding your judgement but I think the ole ball coach beats the couch burners 9 out of 10 games played last year.
