A lot of unknowns with both programs next season, I agree with you though, I cant see either losing more than 4 games and even thats kind of stretch.

The only way I could see LSU lose 4-5 games is if Brennan got hurt, and only in the same vein that our MLB issues were such a problem this year - there is no reliable or known option behind them, and QB is obviously the centerpiece of an offense in 2020.

Even then, I wouldn't say they "easily" go 8-4.

besides losing the best college qb of all time, countless other greats, and the mind behind the offense? Nah...youre right

I don't know if you've heard, but 2000-2007 were basically the worst 8 years in the history of our program. Much like LSU lost 5 games or more 6 straight seasons from 1989 to 1994

Odd how opposing fans only remember short stretches in a programs history. Always laugh when someone suggest LSU will return to the 90s...as though that was the normal

Nope, it wasn't. LSU has been a really solid program for basically 100 years.

LSU didnt even lose 5 games in a season where they lost to Troy.

LSU didnt even lose 5 games in a season where Miles dropped two early games then got fired.

Alabama and LSU both lost the same amount of production.

They have to play Bama, @A&M, @UF, @AUB, and could slip versus tu, the pirate, or in their low level bowl game.

I hate to burst your fantasy-based bubble, but after LSU reloads, it will inevitably win the SEC West for the second straight season in a row.

Wasn't saying you thought that, just to be clear.

I was agreeing with your earlier post

I am not saying you will...but its not like its crazy to think with everything lost and your schedule.

It is crazy. 5 losses next year would be an all time collapse. In the 3 years mentioned in the OP LSU looked like this:

2002: Just finding itself under Saban and the legendary 2001 class were all true freshman and started Marcus Randall at QB.

2008: Year after a NC and we lose a shite load of senior leadership. We started the year with fricking Andrew Hatch at QB before turning it over (literally) to true freshman Jarrett Lee.

2014: Les was starting to turn into the Les that got him fired at this point. Super stubborn and we started Anthony Jennings all year with Brandon Harris coming off the bench at times.

Fast forward to 2020. The defense will be loaded on the DL and in the secondary. We have to fill 2 LB spots but there are 3 LBs on the roster that will be legit SEC starters. Brennan sure the frick ain't no Randall, Hatch, Lee or Jennings. LSU isn't going anywhere anytime soon and won't lose 5 games if the program stays at this level.

We'll lose two or three, as George says. We won't lose every game we're "supposed to lose." We're not Texas A&M.

Glad to see Farmer is back to look stupid in a thread about LSU. Means the SEC Rant is alive and well. Where would be without his stupidity?

Don't forget, Ryan Perriloux was kicked off the team

That set up Andrew Hatch as the starter, later replaced by TF Jarret Lee.

Also that was the only season in a long time that LSU didn't have a solid experienced DC on the staff. It was the Malvetto failed experiment. I would be shocked if LSU goes 15-0 but this will still be a pretty good team with a realistic shot at double digit wins.

2020, I see LSU in a NY6 Bowl. The only losses I see are Bama and UF. I see LSU making another playoff run in 2021. 3 losses next year is the absolute floor

Again...not saying you will, but to think its just out of the realm of possibility is dumb. Id say you have a better shot at losing 5 games than winning the west though. Id give around 30% chance of 5 games and about 10% chance of winning the west.

You said “very easily” in another post, which is why I assumed you’d be willing to place a small wager. 30% chance of happening is pretty far from “very easily”, though.

I agree George, I'm having a hard time seeing where that 8th win is coming from with Joey and the pirate in the conference now.
