Houston is 1-2 in quad one and 2-0 against quad 2. It's a joke to pretend that they belong in the top 5 just because they blow out trash

Not to mention their current team is a shell of their former self. Not their fault, but still reality.

We’ve swung too far into the analytics in an effort to shout out the old guard. We’ve discarded results in favor of algorithms that are only as good as we design them.

Gonzaga, Houston and Arizona are good teams, but their resumes and schedules are far too weak to be ranked this highly in the AP. AP rankings should consider predictive analytics as a tool, but should more closely reflect a strength of record ranking rather than a predictive modeling.

NET is sort of an attempt to find a middle ground between the predictives like KenPom and the resulte oriented stuff like RPI.

Any system is going to be a hodgepodge given how college sports work.

And I say that as someone who appreciates keeping up with KenPom, Bart Torvik, and team rankings on a regular basis. Those models provide value that was often ignored and ridiculed in the past.

Glad to see we didn’t drop. Thought we played pretty well considering it was on the road against a higher ranked team.
