His stat line doesn’t show it for reasons outside his control (dropped passes, a receiving TD not called, conservative second half), but Burrow is the real deal. So is Tua from what I’ve heard.

Hurtsesque passing numbers

Top 5 in your opinions
Some teams played glorified scrimmages, others played marquee match-ups that few of us will know until later on if the teams they played suck or not. (Remember, Florida State was a top 5 team when Alabama played them last year)
Based on level of competition (presuming pre-season rankings hold true), one HAS to give Stidham the leg up on all these. 36 passes with no INT, 273 yards, against what should be a top flight pass defense.
We'll see, but based on that alone you have to give him credit. Stidham, Tua, Lock - all could easily throw for 300+ against the teams Mississippi State and Ole Miss played against. One was an FCS school; the other was the 123rd ranked pass defense last year.
It's clear that all you did was sort by total yards (noting that Lock and Storey both obliterated both Mississippi QBs in rating).
All we have, to date, is what the teams did last year. In YPG, Washington was #32, Miami was #56, and Louisville was #66.
The team that played the best pass defense, from a statistical point of view?
Kentucky.

Lock does more with less. Lock looks like a Ford GT surrounded by pintos. Although Hall is a good college WR.
Our offense is loaded. You have no idea what you are talking about. Hall is better than good. Not sure there is a WR in the nation that creates separation as easily as he does.

Nice Breakdown...
Storey put on a show in less than 2 qtrs...looks like our QB going forward. He looked way better than anyone could imagine and has command of our O

Agree on Frank's. The kid was highly rated for his raw talent. Mullen with someone with that arm, decent running ability, and size? He will get the best out of Felipe. I don't think people truly understand just how bad Nuss and Mac were at their jobs. Frank's won't be elite. This year. By his senior year? Look out. Mullen can make a guy with that arm a very good QB.

Burrow definitely did not put up stellar numbers, and we cannot expect to win every game with similar numbers. However, he basically lost an entire half with the game out of reach early in the third. So, the total yards won't be there. He managed the entire game well, and that's another aspect of the QB job. With LSU, they always shown they can win with an average QB. It's when the QB play is below average (or flat-out vomitous), that you see them struggle in close games. The completion percentage at QB needs to improve (as a team), and this goes for the receivers holding the ball.
He also had a TD at the pylon, that was pulled back to the 1, I believe. Also, had a couple passes that were well thrown and caught inches out of bounds, in addition to the drops. He actually played above average for anyone who can see objectively. The first string D played lights out, and everyone is too hung on that, and it overshadows decent play on the other side of the ball.
