Stidham sliced up one of the best secondaries in the nation. He looked outstanding.

Tua was playing a poor defense, but made it clear that for now the hype was well deserved.

Taamu put the ball right on the money all day and Ole Miss has the best receivers in the SEC. They were playing a terrible defense, but the passing game looked good.

Lock is really good, but I didn’t see their game because they were too scared to play anyone decent.

Bentley same thing as Lock, although I’m not calling them pussies like Missouri because they play Clemson.

Burrow looked like the most competent QB LSU has had since Mettenberger, although his stats were really bad. Mond looked improved against a nobody. UGA’s QBs didn’t have to throw because they won’t play anybody good. Vandy has a solid QB, but nothing around him. Arky and Kentucky don’t matter. Don’t care about Florida. Tennessee is an absolute joke.

Well if you take into account with 5 drops and a TD that wasn't awarded......not great numbers but good numbers against a supposedly #8 team in the country.

I'm not talking crap. You can't justify putting a QB who has played 1 game and had less than a 50% completion rating in the top 5. Don't be butthurt on facts

There were many drops (on WRs), balls thrown away (on OL) and were several tipped passes (credit to the defense). It's his first game and if you watched the game this offense is going to get much much better.

He may not be the best QB in the SEC this year BUT he will be top 3-5 by the end of it and will be top 1-3 by next year. He's legit no doubt about it. This offense could have easily fallen apart but he pulled it all together, led them, instilled confidence in his teammates and beat a good Miami D in his very first game after just 2 months with the team and offense.

This whole time people were saying that he would fall apart but he didn't and made some great throws when the WRs timing was on with his. That will improve especially now that they all see how good they can be with work.

So I see this mentioned by several LSU posters. You guys do realize that play would of been call back if a replay occurred. It was a grace of luck that the ref called him out at one. I guess you skipped the next play when LSU quick snapped because they knew also it could of been called back.

I thought he played well. Remember, he only played what, 6 snaps at Ohio State? I have poked fun at the dude as much as anyone but I came away impressed. He may not turn into a game changer but he certainly will make good decisions and keep every game close and with lsus defense that all you need. Reminds me of some former Bama qbs.

Franks threw 5 TDs in the first half and didn't play in the second half....doesn't matter the competition level, he threw some dimes in the end zone.

LSU is average at best on offense...get over yourself, your DL won the game...that and poor arse punting from UM.

It's clear that all you did was sort by total yards (noting that Lock and Storey both obliterated both Mississippi QBs in rating
).

Nope typed sec qb ratings into Google and clicked the link.

We'll see, but based on that alone you have to give him credit. Stidham, Tua, Lock - all could easily throw for 300+ against the teams Mississippi State and Ole Miss played against. One was an FCS school; the other was the 123rd ranked pass defense last year.

Well no shite, you mean our backup is not really the best qb in the SEC?

You are one humorless man, I hope you are at least 106 years old to be this tone deaf.

Burrow looked good despite the stats. His arm is strong enough, he is reasonably accurate, he is able to audible, he is not a great athlete but at least adequate with good strength. I was impressed with him and LSU. The OL was decent. The RBs and WRs while OK were not typical LSU elite talent. The defense was stout as usual, better than last year.

I'm not an LSU fan but overall I was impressed. They were organized for the most part and played with good discipline. They are going to win more than 6 games. Their schedule is a bear with AU, MSU, UGA, UF and Alabama left. They will also have to play vs OM and A&M but they are definitely better than them - but we've seen how they can lose to such teams.

My guess is 9-3 and calm on the Bayou. But first week impressions and injuries and fortune make predicting anything about anyone, even Alabama, dicey after one game.

11 for 24 for 140 with no TD is good? LSU standards for a QB are very low.

Burrow’s stats suck. But what is not shown in the stats are his decision making plays. He made two very nice audibles after reading the defense, made the right decisions to throw the ball away and live for another down, drew offsides twice on hard counts and the biggest stat of all, he did not turn the ball over. Oh, and he had a few WR drops that should have been completions. He played much better than the stat sheet indicates.
