A&M doesn't need the money.. You used to think A&M and our deep pockets were a problem. You just invited a school with even deeper pockets.

I don’t know what you’re saying. I couldn’t care less how much money A&M has. Donations and endowments are not the monies that are relevant here. It’s how much money athletes can make with their NIL rights that count. Your school may be able to set a better stage than most, via better facilities, for recruiting but they can’t pay them directly.

There will be a far more intense recruiting scene now that athletes can earn money with their NIL. The SEC administration, OU and Texas realized this 6 months ago and are joining forces to make sure the conference and its members have the most appealing product to offer recruits.

Will elite athletes choose schools from elite conferences over others? Of course. Does the additions of OU and Texas make the SEC the most appealing conference to elite football athletes? Far and away. The Big Ten is moaning that the SEC is pulling away from them. This move of OU and Texas to the conference places the SEC firmly in the cat bird’s seat.

A full half of the New SEC’s members have multiple nattys. 11 can claim at least one. That’s spectacular. The SEC is America’s college football conference.

OU and Texas to the SEC is a business deal but it’s also the first earthquake that will shake out the pretenders from the contenders. Your school will survive the shake out because of its resources and passionate fanbase. I think UK will, too. There will be many P5 schools that won’t.

Who said we’re leaving? We’re getting ready to start kicking your arse pretty much every year. I guess you LSU guys can hope.

Your best team in at least 20 years beat our worst team in at least 20 years by 13 points. We’re shaking in our boots.

I’m just curious if all these tigers are going to keep slobbing on Texas’ nob like it’s a corn dog, or if they’ll come to their senses. I don’t want to be business partners with Texas again, but have full faith that we’ll own them on the field. Tigers seem to forget we’ve won 2 out of the past 3 against them. A bad horn program isn’t scary.

You’ve convinced yourselves that we are in any way alike. We are not. We will not be pushed around like a bitch like you’ve allowed Texas to do to you for your entire existence.

I’m not going to even bother with your 2 of 3 nonsense y’all tell yourselves because you have literally nothing else.

We won a fricking championship.

I think most LSU fans could do without Texas in the conference, actually. It’s just that your outrage is hilarious. Nice corn dog reference though. 10/10, would read again.

You’ve also won 2 of the last 10. And despite the “print the cups” game and your recent win against our worst team in two decades, you still aren’t out-recruiting us.

Which begs the obvious question…

Good luck finding that. Every other P5 conference phases its members in by giving them a smaller slice of the revenue pie until a few years into the deal. You think Michigan and Ohio State will give you equal footing in the Big Ten? Duke and North Carolina in the ACC, which is really a basketball conference? Maybe the Pac-12 where the carcass of USC football is all it has left that matters.

I'm sure the American would take you in a heartbeat and let you run things. Good luck.

I think the biggest issue I have is that this was deliberately kept from A&M and possibly others. What does that say about Snakey when A&M is on the edge of the playoff? Oh yeah, he said nothing, because that is what his orange masters and ESPN wanted ...

This conference was supposed to be fair, with every team having an equal share and an equal say. That's just a bunch of garbage. Then again, they did invite Texas so Snakey's true colors are showing through ...

I wouldn't mind leaving for somewhere that treats us as equals. That obviously will never happen here, especially with the burnt orange and ESPN in charge

This is quite the melt. The only thing it does is restore a true rivalry. Seems like fans would be happy. Man up and outcompete them across the board. That would be more satisfying than trembling about it.

I mean aTm (alongside Mizzou) is 9 years old in the conference. It's an immature relationship with the core members even for the expansion group. Your 1/14 vote is equal, but face it, you're on the kiddie table during the strategic discussions for the conference direction in terms of influence. Plus, it hardly seems like aTm could have stayed unbiased or unemotional about the topic. Although, I think there is a zero % chance they were truly unaware. Just butthurt, which is why someone likely leaked it to the Houston Chronicle

And, the SEC were hard after TX and OU for 2012 expansion. Not a surprise that the conference still sees value in their brand and mkt.

You can wring your hands or roll your sleeves up, but you can't do both. The writing is on the wall. Might as well get to work.

Jimbo is doing good work, so we are free to make it known we don’t appreciate being bait for the SEC to get OU and Texas ten years later. Especially when we were told the opposite ten years ago.

This is so typical. Deflect, make accusations of melting, resort to irrational claims of obsession.

You thinking A&M’s problems are a result of the last ten years is comical. The most oblivious fanbase in the history of American sports.

Actually we have had a good last ten years. I was promised years of losing seasons in the SEC move and we haven’t seen one so far. But we have had two of our best years since WW2 since then, if anything the Big 12 was way harder for us.

The standards are extremely low at A&M. Let’s be honest.

But I like that now you’re moving the goalposts on why y’all are staying

You've been .500 or below in conference play 6 of your 9 years in the SEC.
