The cope is off the charts in this topic.

Are you really that ignorant? Lmao. A close personal friend of mine was an All American for Texas between 1978-1980 or so. His direct quote, “hell yes we got paid, but you have to remember I was a lineman, there wasn’t a lot of money left over after they paid Earl.”

No one, not a single school in the SWC ever came close to the payouts being handed out by Utrans.

on paper, Texas WON the SEC last year.

Are you sure? I saw the paper and I'm pretty sure the headline read:

"Bulldogs stun Texas in overtime thriller to claim SEC title"

I don’t think he’ll recover from this

quote:

Texas played 7 teams from the bottom 8 in the conference last season. The only team in the upper half, UGA, beat them by double digits at Texas. Then smacked them again with their backup QB again. It was embarrassing. But they “won the conference on paper” ? Snicker. You won 3 national titles in 8 years,60 years ago, then one more 20 years ago. But nothing else in your 130 years. Yet you strut around here like a peacock in front of programs that have won multiple titles since your last one: UF, LSU, UGA & Alabama, and Auburn who has also won one since you. And no, we don’t care about your parcheesi, scrabble or women’s volleyball titles. Just football - well we do care about a little about men’s basketball too, in season. We talk about football year ‘round. No apologies. But it’s not just us Deep South Neanderthal Though they pretend otherwise, the rest of the country doesn’t really care about the other stuff either - just check attendance figures. So yeah, we’re macho. If you knew how foolish you sound and how you are really perceived you would be more quiet. Your buddies from OU have almost double the football titles you do, second most in the conference, and they don’t strut about like banty roosters. You should take lessons from your Sooner superiors. Even your A&M brothers, who won a national championship in football long before you, conduct themselves with far more intelligence and decorum. Again, we just don’t care about your parcheesi titles or your money - just football and a little men’s basketball. And what you do, not what you’re gonna do. You’ve done a little eons ago, congrat, but nothing in your brief time here and your track record is not good. I don’t know of anyone who’s wasted more talent and resources over the decades than you.

The OP probably saw this thread going differently in his head.

You never know when a program is gonna hire some obscure coach that takes the program to new heights. See Cignetti for proof. 5 years ago no one thought Indiana would be in the middle of the playoff picture, but look at them now.

If UK "won" the SEC in 1976 then LSU went winless in 2012-2015. Busted!

You can't believe that. It went exactly as I knew it would. And I like it that way.

Every SEC school is the right hire away from winning the conference, or the wrong hire away from being lost at sea. For examples: Kiffin at Ole Miss for the former, and Florida’s list of sadness post-Meyer for the latter.

4 SEC schools are the right hire away.

Four of them have a decent shot at winning it this year.

Ole Miss and A&M are undefeated. Tennessee is perhaps the best one loss team and Oklahoma has a path.

I understand why an outsider may believe this, but they will look like shite for a decade, then ol YellaWood will buy a team that will rip your head off and shite down your neck...then they'll suck again. Never say never about the Barn.

Gotta love Texas arrogance. They’ve been in the league 13 months and know all about it.
