Played baseball through high school. First time I heard of obstruction rule was in my son’s 12u game. When did this become a rule and is it for all levels in baseball, softball?

It's been around in baseball forever. Not sure about softball.

Texas seems to be making better contact overall tonight. I feel like it's just a matter of time before they break through on Canady.

As a local person I appreciate all the Texas and Texas Tech fans that came to town for this final... and all the local people who showed out.

A real nice crowd considering the NBA finals are going on in town as well.

I was really worried that once the Thunder made the NBA finals and OU didn't get in the softball finals... that attendance might suffer.

But it looks 90-95% full tonight.

Posting during Thunder halftime. LOL.

Hasn't this Texas Tech Pitcher pitched all 7 innings yesterday or does she have someone who looks exactly like her? Not many African softball pitchers so I imagine it is her again. God I wish I played on 220 ft fences on my pickup softball league. We use softer, mushier balls that don't go as far and still play 50-80 ft deeper fields. Of course it's slow pitch, but that makes it harder bc less exit velo. That homer just then is a line out to center with him probably even taking a step forward to catch.

Thank you. I'm tired of people pumping this guy. He should be driving a clown car. And he also appears to seek the cheap way out - he was challenging every stupid little thing. He'll take a backdoor win with no ounce of shame.

I see you're not very familiar with Mike White. In 2023, he stalled a game he was losing 7-4 to Kentucky because Kentucky had a plane to catch. There was a drop-dead time, so White slowed the game down enough to force a tie.

LINK

And for the record, every coach I've seen will absolutely challenge for obstruction if they think it will help them. They all use the rule to their advantage. Not many would stall for a tie in a game they're losing.

White does seem to be less assholey lately, at least to me, but he's still the most hated coach in softball for a reason.

The looseness of the obstruction rules in softball are ridiculous. That and the look back rule are dumb dumb.

She’ll be fine tomorrow. The question is why didn’t you go to her to start the inning if she was an option.
