Mississippi State leads the conference with a 17-0, 3-0 record. State is one of only three undefeated teams in the nation (Connecticut and Virginia Tech), and is currently ranked No. 4 in both polls. State won its first game ever at Tennessee today. Interesting fact: After losing the first 38 games in the all-time series with the Lady Vols, MSU has won the last three.
South Carolina sits at No. 5 in the national polls, and is 13-1, 3-0. The Lady Gamecocks are still the favorites to win the SEC and they host MSU on Jan. 23. ESPN Bracketology has USC a No. 1 seed over MSU as well.
Texas A&M, Tennessee and Georgia all sit a game back of the leaders. A&M got a big upset win over Kentucky, and with MSU's win over Tennessee - the SEC is likely to only have two ranked teams in next weeks polls.
LSU is 1-1 in the conference and is leading Arkansas late. Ole Miss has been the surprise of the conference, getting off to a 12-3, 1-1 start, but the Rebels are down 15 at Auburn right now.
Alabama just moved to 2-1 with a late win over Missouri. Kentucky dropped two this week to move to 10-6 and 1-2 in the conference, and likely out of the Top 25.
Arkansas, Vanderbilt and Florida are all surprisingly winless in the conference. All three were projected NCAA Tournament teams in the preseason.

Could Missouri WBB beat the Missouri MBB team?
Would the men's coach be mistaken for the women's coach?

Nice to see women's basketball getting some respect on here. Great coaching in the SEC and those girls play their hearts out.

I don't watch it as much as the men teams, but somebody else can watch it if they want.

Its pretty amazing. Next week they will try to tie their own all time record for consecutive wins with 90 (one that they set just a few years ago) Its against South Florida, the only team that stayed within 20 of them last year in conference play.
MSU is atop the SEC, undefeated and by all accounts pretty dang good. UConn beat them by 60 last year. In the Sweet 16.

Most dominate team in all sports. I know baseball gets a lot of hate but that is one sports that any team can win it all ( see Coastal Carolina).

anc, when did you get into women's basketball?

I actually enjoy it. Not as much as men's hoops, football or baseball. But more so than softball and volleyball.

Women shouldn't even be voting. Why do we let them play sports, it only gives them false hope.

Thanks for the thread, were some pretty tight wins yesterday that I missed as a friends best friend passed yesterday.

Maybe UCONN will only beat this MSU team by 30 this year. #goals

Vandy's 10-5 with their roster situation is pretty remarkable really, gave one away to UGA yesterday tho.
