That's 10,450 more than attend a MSU MBB game.

Unfortunately true. Sad, but true. Hope for a good turnout tomorrow night. Students need to get behind them.

Put the student section back where it used to be instead of tucking it in the corner and you will start to have crowds again.

Agree Student section sucks the way it is currently done.
Why not go back to the way it was since the general public does not go to the Men’s games anyway.

Because Byrne, Stricklin, and now it appears Cohen are stupid when it comes to basketball. Common sense means nothing if the coorps pay big $$$ for empty seats.

Actually attendance was 10,794 which is a record for Mens or Women’s.

Great atmosphere tonight and maybe it will carry over to tomorrow night with Bama coming to town and the Men on a three game winning streak. Would be nice to see another 10K+ crowd in the Hump.

Won't see that many. If only this game were on Wednesday instead of Tuesday. This is just bad timing.

Cohen is too busy jacking off to Dudy Noble updates to give a shite about our dead men's basketball atmosphere. Plus the athletic department sucks off the blue hairs that buy season tickets and attend zero games all year. Some things about MSU are still stuck in 1988. Like this shite for example. Sucking off assholes cause they don't want to upset them by making their seats first come first serve. We also have the most pathetic student section ever apparently when it comes to basketball. We need Lavar Ball to bring his Lithuanian rowdies in for a game. Then we might break 1,000 in actual attendance.

As someone who has been to numerous SEC Arenas, our student section is easily the worst I've seen. But they were the best I've seen tonight.

Some people are ok with the way Men's Basketball is handled. Using it as an agenda. But the fact is they're the very reason we have no fans at the Humphrey Coliseum! Our Athletic Department needs to stop acting like there's no issue and fix the obvious. Men's Basketball can be fixed. And fixing the student section should be the #1 priority.

The game was possibly the loudest I've ever been to in the Hump, as good or better than the sold-out men's bb games in the 2000's. Back then more than one player on the NC Florida team said the Hump was the loudest he had ever played in.

Last nights game was one of the best atmospheres I've been to in any sport, including football. Acknowledging, of course, that there was less on the line than bigger sports and title games.

When the Hump gets loud, the place is deafening and opponents feel like the sound is right in top of them.

Men's basketball seating has to be fixed. It has killed the atmosphere. Last night showed what the Hump can be like.

I don't get why everybody gets so wound up about the student section location. They get a good amount of lower level seats. They are behind the goal....so what, student section football seats are in the endzone. They don't seem to have an issue with it for football and didn't seem to have an issue with it last night.

They get priority points for showing up, more if they stay until the end of the game. They get a lounge with free pizza, drinks, and other snacks. They've also got have video games set up for them to play, not sure why but I guess that's what they like to do. They do giveaways and crap for them too. There's plenty of motivation for them to go to games and it really shouldn't matter where the seating is as long as they've got some lower level available.

The athletic department has noticed and is trying to implement some changes. In noticed Saturday they had an announcement they had waived transfer fees on men's basketball tickets and had also implemented some sort of rewards program on those, have your tickets used (scanned) for 50% of the games get something, 75% something, and so on. So, they are taking notice and are doing what they can mid-season this year.

I figure they are probably looking at something more long term. As someone who is two hours away, I'm not buying season tickets because I can't make the mid-week games. But, its extremely frustrating you rarely see anybody offering to sell lower level tickets, then you get to a game and at least 1/3 of the lowers are empty.

In all due respect to the record...is Mississippi State is there really that much difference between the looks of a man or woman to begin with?

Probably not from a Mizzou student’s perspective.

Mainly because they are at the wrong end now in the second half as they are not facing the opposing teams FT shooters.
The old student section had a portion of the side court around and behind the basket on the lower and upper level.

The other thing that needs to be done is
Have a stand by student line if all the student tickets have issued and let those students sit in unsold seats at game time.
Now maybe they are already doing this but if not, tonight would be a great chance to fill up the Hump with students sitting in unused or unsold seats.

At least until season ticket holders start showing up again. It is embarrassing as it stands now to see rows and rows of seats empty even though the tickets have been sold.

I also forgot to throw in there the different ticketing options the athletic department has rolled out. I get the "reply buy" text notifications. They've been sending those out marketing upper corner and end seats at $18 each, which is only a $2 discount. I got one for tonight earlier this morning and they are $13. Not sure why they don't just drop them to $10 or even $8 to try to bring in extra people, but it shows they are paying attention.

I think they should also try some sort of family pack deal for mid-week games like the minor league teams do. 4 tickets, 4 cokes, 4 hotdogs and 4 popcorns for $50 or something.
