At the time, everyone said the East was way down those years and Missouri argued they were top dog of a brutal east
They haven't gone or even been relevant since UGA and UF got good again, so guess we know who was right on that

Are you talking about OU? Because the SWC would've been a better conference than the Big 8 if they'd stayed.

Those were the years Mark Richt lost control of the entire East and was subsequently fired for it. Mizzou fans should give Richt every bit as much credit as they give Pinkel.
But it wasn't just Richt's fault. Florida and Tennessee were also garbage those years. But Richt carries most of the blame because he had much more talent than the others; the least excuses. Lots of injuries too, but still Mizzou? Two years in a row you let them take the East? We love you Richt, but Kirby's agent says he's interested in the job so gtfo.
