It made me think. If a perennial Big 12 doormat like Misery can come into the SEC and challenge for conference championships, why do some of you believe that Oklahoma and Texas can't compete?

That was probably the worst SEC East in the last decade.

Mizzou was pretty senior.

Let's take a look at the final SEC Eastern Division standings for 2014, shall we?

1. Missouri (11-3 overall, 7-1 in the SEC)
2. Georgia (10-3 overall, 6-2 in the SEC)
3. Florida (7-5 overall, 4-4 in the SEC)
4. Tennessee (7-6 overall, 3-5 in the SEC)
5. South Carolina (7-6 overall, 3-5 in the SEC)
6. Kentucky (5-7 overall, 2-6 in the SEC)
7. Vanderbilt (3-9 overall, 0-8 in the SEC)

Missouri got blasted to the tune of 42-13 in the SEC Championship Game.

The East was absolute dogshit that year outside of UGA (who beat Mizzou 34-0 on the road) and Mizzou.

Worst was 2010. Only SCar finished ranked (22nd) and every team lost at least 5 games.

SCar 9-5
UF 8-5
UGA 6-7
Vols 6-7
UK 6-7
Vandy 2-10

Did they win the conference championship game or make the playoffs?

As long as neither of those things are your goals, I don't see why Texas and Oklahoma can't accomplish the same.

Perhaps but Misery made the CG in both 2013 and 2014.

Believe that if we joined the same year as Misery and Aggie, both Oklahoma and Texas would both have multiple SEC championships by now.

And they also made the B12 title game a few times. What's your point?

That was a good Mizzou team but not great or close to the level of Bama. It got even worse when Ray got thrown out for a targeting call. Besides the OP question was wrong, everyone knows OU will compete well.

That was a talented USC team.

Had to play the eventual National Champs twice.

I never thought I'd see a season when Tennessee, Florida and Georgia were all awful.

That was Urban's zombie year and Dooley's first season. Not sure why UGA was so bad though.

“We”…??? multiple SEC champs?… not division but SEC? We?… as in both TX and OK? WTF?

How many BigXII division or conference championships has TX won since 2011? Oh I see…

…but now you are going to beat all the SEC teams? Alabama, LSU, Georgia, A&M? And even OK has been skunked when a title was on the line? Double WTF?

Young fool, you are the poster child for “never been outside of TX”. Good god there are a lot of delusional TX-i-cons.

Because you're making the mistake of joining the SEC West, not the SEC Least.

So, Texas is already dick riding bamas dominance of the west? There is bama, occasionally LSU and a bunch of hohum....

The east is georgia and occasionally flirida these days and a bunch of hohum.

Mizzou wasn’t a perennial doormat. A winning record against all past and present Big12 teams except for OU, NU, UT, and A&M, Mizzou won their division 3 times in the Big12, and twice in the SEC.

It’s interesting to note that Texas has only won their division when OU was down (2009 and 2005). What makes UT think they can win it when they’re guaranteed to share the same division with another elite team?
