I don't care how many times Saban has hit a homerun on secondary recruiting, KirkPatrick sucks. He sucked last year, and I hope he plays all year so he can give us an opportunity to score on you guys. "sucks" is probably too strong of a word. But he is far from a lockdown corner.
You could teach Saban a thing or two about secondaries. And fullbacks too.

What? Pass rush was one of the weak points of Bama's D.
You're right. Alabama has never had more than one good pass rusher on their team at once the last couple. In 2009, it was Marcell Dareus on a part-time basis. Last year, it was Upshaw. Outside of that, our pass rush was really lacking. Saban had to rely heavily on blitz packages to generate packages and that leaves our corners on an island a lot. The pass rush has always been the weakest part of the defense since Saban's been here. Once Saban has a fearsome pass rush in place, this defense will be really scary.

Not hating on Kirk Swag-Patrick. Milliner IS a better corner though. You'll see. Yeah he had some growing pains last season, but he'll lock mfr's down this year. Remember I said that.

Kirk Swag-Patrick
His play doesn't match the "swag" title that is associated with him .imo
He has good flashes, but also gets man handled rather easily at times. Hopefully he can get his consistency in order this year.

LOL, Milliner might become a better corner but he is in no way a better corner now.

I'm just glad McElroy is gone after being traumatized watching him play the last couple years. I have only recently started to recover. It's a new era.

Trade your pass rushers for Vanderbilts. Or Oregons. Or even big bad Uconn. It's relative. Compared to the college football average, I would say you have a very good pass rush. Compared to your fanbases expectations, maybe they do suck.

Kill yourself. You bring that shite to every thread. He's gone.

I came away impressed with Bama, but not overly impressed. The same way I felt about AU, AR, LSU, and UGA. I think the SEC is wide open this coming year.

What does this have to do with the thread?
Let. It. Go.

You sir are an idiot. Why on earth would Alabama compare their pass rush to vandy and uconn or oregon? When you play in the SEC, the only way a part of your defense can be considered "exceptional" is if it is top 5 in the country.
Our pass rush has sucked balls for so long I fergot what a good pass rush looked like until the first half of Auburn and then the Michigan St game. And even those 2 games were NOT up to par for what an Alabama pass rush should look like.
I think that may change this year from what I saw in the a-day game. Even without the exotic blitz packages they were getting pressure on the QB pretty consistently and scored several "sacks" even though some of those were "premature whistles" imo.

I thought most everybody thought Trent was a beast of a RB?
Who did you think he was?

Hard to judge a DL based on them competing against your OL and considering it was a Spring game. I expect Bama's DL to be better next year, simply because last year wasn't very good for a Saban DL.

Alabama's pass rush has been fine. They don't get a ton of sacks, but they do get a lot of QB pressures.
QB pressures = turnovers.
Something Alabama has been good at creating the last few years.

You guys are good at changing the subject. The pass rush of bama isn't the issue, it's that Dre is a scrub.

And again I say you're an idiot.
The pass rush has as much to do with Dre's performance as his ability to play. You let a QB sit all day with no pressure and he will pick you apart. If you get pressure on him and make him make bad throws, then your corners can make plays.
The only play I can remember him getting beat on was a perfect throw that NOBODY could have defended. You are entitles to your opinion that Dre sucks. I am also entitled to my opinion that you are, I say again, an idiot.

I agree with some of what he said. Kirkpatrick has been underwhelming so far. Milliner and Menzie are better corners IMO. Sims showed much more poise in the pocket in the second half of the A-Day game. McCarron didn't "pull away" from Sims in my white, non-racist opinion.

While I think Milliner is a solid player, he was directly responsible for giving up huge chunks of yardage up as well as several TDs that NEVER should've happened. Kirkpatrick didn't have nearly as many fuk ups as Milliner did and if you think Dre < Dee then you watched a mere fraction of last season's games.
