If the BIG cancels their season but the SEC and ACC continue, I'd be willing to bet the NCAA comes out and says no players transferring from that conference will have immediate eligibility. It would be the only way to save that conference if shite goes down

The NCAA would look absolutely terrible doing this.

So it’s probably gonna happen.

Doesn't matter. Very few schools have space for all these transfers their fans think they're gonna get. Particularly this late in the game

NCAA- "Players have the option to transfer and lose a year of eligibility or stay and retain that year of eligibility"

At this point the NCAA has no ground to stand on. Give them the finger and suit up. Who’s gonna stop them? No one on the sidelines I bet.

Several do. Also if this Wild West season actually goes on who knows what kind of changes might happen.

Would be the absolute end to the NCAA’s control of big time college football. It would be the NCAA version of pouring gasoline onto a fire.

Transfers count as initial counters now so while several may have a spot or 2 they don't have a gluttony of spots open.
LSU, for example, has quite a few spots open under 85 but only 1 initial counter spot. So 1 transfer. Most power 5 programs are in the same boat. Where are the kids gonna go with no small conference schools to take up the slack?
The NCAA isnt gonna break on that no matter the circumstances. How would the big ten schools recoup those spots with 25 man limits?

I've already posted this in a couple of threads. The SEC and ACC only make up 26 out of about 128 teams. No way in hell the NCAA lets Michigan and Texas get raped and pillaged.

So we get one of the top Big Ten players? I’m down.

Other schools have more room than LSU

Not so sure about your NCAA comment, new normal and all that.

I think the NCAA has no choice but to let them transfer and play. Lawsuits galore if they block it

Can't be a new normal regarding the NCAA until they change the rules. You can speculate they may change them, they will not, but they haven't so you can only go with what's on record.

Some is not several. I'll be generous and say 2 per team for the 50 schools representing the other 4 power 5 conferences. That's 100 players that have a place to transfer. Where are the others gonna go? Don't they have rights to transfer as well? Is the NCAA gonna make it first come first serve or participation/stat based on who gets preferential treatment? You want to talk about lawsuits?

I think you’re underestimating the sea change that could possibly take place.

Lawsuits could easily come either way be it from players trying to transfer or prevented from transferring so that doesn’t really mean much.

I still think zero CFB gets played in 2020 but there are some neat possibilities for this season, which is the point I originally made in this thread.

We don't need that kind of chaos. No need to burn it down for one season.

The NCAA is a lame duck if any conference starts disintegrating. They’d be lucky to sanction water polo championships.

The NCAA is done. It's over, and it's about time.

If other conferences play, wonder if this hurts B1G recruiting going forward.

I personally don’t think the college presidents and ADs have the guts to overturn the NCAA. They make it easier for them and most people just follow the “go along to get along” theory of life. I would love to see all the money the NCAA puts in staff and lawyers’ pockets go where it should go. To the schools and athletes. So my vote is for the Power 5 to leave the NCAA. Say bye bye!
