The schools can simply ignore the NCAA if they want.
They have no power over them that cannot be retracted if certain conferences choose to.
NCAA: you better not play!
SEC: we are playing anyway
NCAA: you better not let other schools schedule with you!
SEC: we are going to if it makes us more money
NCAA: no transfers allowed! Scholarship limits to be enforced!
SEC: we will accept instant transfers and allow a one year expansion of scholarship limits to account for covid quarantine situations.
NCAA: we won’t allow it! We forbid it!
SEC: or else what? We have our own TV contracts and are the ones giving you a cut.
NCAA: **crickets**
