But he was in prime position for the defense that was called.

Except he had no idea the ball was in the air because his head never turned around. There were some great throws to the right spot but on the first 26 yarder he never even saw the ball.

Not only did he never see the ball coming on the Hanks reception but Hanks broke his tackle gain crucial extra yards for the field goal attempt.

No, he played decent against a team that was playing ungodly. Dude has a lot of heart and didn't stop playing the best he could even when the game was lost.

I never get this NFL bullshite, there are a ton of players with the right size that don't pan out. Tons of people don't pan out for the NFL. He is playing decent football for us now, that's what matters at LSU.

I don't think he's anywhere near the great player he's made out to be. However, I thought he actually played pretty well last night. He definitely played better than he did 11/5

What I am saying is TM benifitted from a certain amount of hype. He is a solid college player but in my opinion not a Heisman finalist.

No he was a heisman finalist. Greatest ever, obviously.

This kid has been a baller since he stepped on campus. His play was the cause for the hype. All the Heisman finalists benefited from some kind of hype.

Perfect passes. On two of them no defense could have stopped them.

I wonder why Bama coaches decided to throw toward him so much?

I don't have a problem with TM7. What I have a problem with is him getting voted the best defensive player in the nation at the ESPY. That ain't right. Neither is it right for him to be in the Heisman voting. Arenas was twice the CB and return man than TM7 is. I might give best defensive status to a player like Claiborne or Mark Baron but not TM7. I said it before the game and it shocked a lot LSU fans. AJ was going to pick on the little dude. And he did. On several occasions not just a couple. He was LSU's weak spot in the secondary and AJ targeted him for who to pass against. Illusions usually end tragically and TM7 being anything better than a decent/good CB is just WRONG.

I saw HB7 get beat a few times, but I also saw him make quite a few key pass deflections and tackles as well.

That said he is indeed a better nickle back than a cover guy.

I thought he was the honey bastard? Yes, Saban got the best of him twice this year, not even close.

We know he isn't a great cover corner. He just makes plays when he gets the opportunity. He got stuck one on one last night with bigger receivers and got beat. You're right though, he is a bit too small. I could see putting him a role like Bob Sanders had with the Colts. Bulk him up a little bit and let him harass the running game.

TM7 could learn from Javy Arenas. He's pretty small but doing very well as a CB for Kansas City. JA had 5 sacks and 5 int's his last year. He also had 7 career punt TD's.

Most of us knew that. SOME of us didn't and went so far as to call me dumb and other mean names. I would like an apology. Unfortunately, those are the people who won't show up around here for a while.

The main problem I have with TM7's play last night is that it gives other schools a blueprint of how to attack the LSU pass defense. Alabama put a tall receiver against TM7 and then threw the ball up in the air where the receiver could use his height advantage. Yes, the passes by McCarron were very accurate, but I see all of the other teams trying the same tactic next season.

He is an average cover corner. He plays the run well and usually tackles well, but he was targeted by Bama in both games and I think he is the weak link for LSU in pass coverage. He is a very good return guy. He was incredibly overhyped because of a couple of early season scope and score, one being against, ahum, Kentucky.

He's not the best cover corner ever. He had good coverage on great passes by the Alabama QB. Plus, he had some clutch tackles. Not a "honey badger" game, but still pretty decent.

I kinda agree here. Didn't he also have some issues in Knoxville going up against Da'Rick Rogers as well?

As others have said, he is great on special teams and a stud against the run because he is fast and is to the ball carrier at or behind the LOS, as well as the ability to strip the ball, but as a pure cover corner he isn't all that.

I am a bit surprised, because of how good he is on special teams, that LSU didn't at least try having him return a couple of KOs. With his speed and ability to get to the edge he could have given them a spark - and kickoffs are a lot harder to kick away from someone or play to pin them to one sideline.

If being beat on less than a handful of perfect throws/catches is being exposed, then there are a lot of exposed motherfrickers playing college football. And by a lot, I mean all.
