The 1:31 number is based on the number of children who have received a diagnosis by age 8. So children over 8 and adults aren’t included in this stat.

The topic of adult diagnosis hasn’t been studied a ton, but what is out there does show there has been an increase in adults receiving diagnosis later in life.

Additionally, there have been plenty of reports showing adults are starting to seek diagnosis as they become more aware of what autism is and the signs:

All that said, many adults simply don’t seek diagnosis if they didn’t already receive one as a kid. Receiving a diagnosis is expensive and most diagnosticians are focused on recognizing markers in children not adults. Therefore, finding somewhere that will diagnose an adult can be quite difficult, even putting aside costs. Also many adults don’t see the point in getting diagnosed. There isn’t medication for autism like ADD/ADHD, so there only option would be therapy (which is also expensive).

I absolutely guarantee you know and have met adults and seniors who are autistic. You just didn’t know it and they likely didn’t know. Likely they’ve just always been viewed as “a little bit odd” or “a little bit different”.

Autism is a spectrum of disorders. Included in that 1 and 31 number are individuals ranging from low support needs (think Sheldon Big Bang theory or Ben Affleck in The Accountant) to high support needs (Rain Man). What is a “normal” distribution, I have no clue, but I do think it’s important to understand how broad and diverse the autism spectrum is when discussing these matters.

Point being, when people say “we didn’t have autism when I was a kid”, you actually did you just didn’t call it autism or even know the word.

Because he said autism was a disease (it’s not), over generalized the condition, said it destroys families, and effectively stated their lives had no value.

Vaccines and red dyes in our food don’t cause autism. He’s an idiot who doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

Pete had multiple affairs throughout the show, but most of them weren't on screen. Ones on screen that I can remember, though, include Peggy, the nanny of his neighbor (from when they still live in the city), prostitutes, his neighbor's wife (when they live in the burbs), and if you want to count it his girlfriend in California (although him and his wife were separated at this point). Through dialogue on the show it is definitely implied that he's had multiple affairs beyond what's shown the screen (based on conversations between him and Trudy as well as conversations Pete had with other characters throughout). Additionally, part of the reason Pete got the second apartment in the city was to use as a cover for one night stands.

Just get whatever modem they provide, then put it in bridge mode and buy your own router where you can create different vlans and wifi networks and control what wifi channel your different wifi connections use.

Additionally, you should take a look at where your wifi router is in proximity to the connected devices that you’re having issues with. That said 12 wifi connected devices isn’t that many devices so as others have said, bandwidth isn’t the issue.

Connect your TV via an ethernet cable. Samsung TVs ethernet port (along with most brands as well) is a 100mbs port, so that may lower the bandwidth used at least somewhat. Although technically I think you can get 4K on much lower speeds too, so no fail proof.

It's a solid business traveler movie. It's a little dated in that it's before mobile tickets, tsa precheck, and before the loyalty programs had been completely neutered. That said, many of the things he talks about with regards to travel will likely resonate still.

Yeah, I like the Baratza encore because it's a good multi-method coffee grinder that can work for espresso. Whereas the Turin ones (correct me if I'm wrong) are more targeted for espresso only. I figured getting a newbie to spend over a $100 on a grinder would be hard enough, much less if I told them that it was designed for only one type of coffee. :lol:

I'm a big fan of Trade Coffee's subscription. You can sign up to get freshly roasted beans weekly (or however frequent you want) shipped to you from various roasters from around the country. Absolutely recommend grinding your own beans, particularly if you're doing espresso.

Here is the grinder I use: Baratza Encore

Espresso purists will rightly point out it doesn't do a precise enough grind for espresso, but it's a good starter grinder that allows you to grind from fine to course. If you're new to espresso, I definitely don't think you need to try to get a more precise grinder as that is quite the investment. So unless you plan to get really serious, I think it would be overkill for your purposes.

I'm not a huge espresso guy, so it works for my purposes.

I have several methods for making coffee which include the following:

6. A singlecup pour over cone
7. Aeropress

The moccamaster is what I use the most because I'm lazy. :lol:
