Nope. The blocker neither hits with the crown of the helmet nor targets the head/neck area. Easy call.
But RSJ did not "target the head/neck area" either. He hit the guy solidly in the shoulder. The helmet contact was clearly collateral to the shoulder contact. Exactly like the hypo.

yes it was targeting. rsj should have put his helmet across the chest of the dude and there was no question.

Shanklin:

Non sequitur here, but your screen name is interesting to me because my family bought a few hundred acres from a "Shanklin" family about 80 years ago ... we still call it the Shanklin Place.

What is the origin of your screen name?

Helmets did not contact first
yes they did. in my screen shot, the helmets are already ricocheting off each other before the shoulder pads are making contact.

this picture shows rsj's body language that he is basically launching into the player instead of making a legal block

i have and other fb players, notably palmer who not only played but covers fb for a living, agree with my assessment. multiple flags were thrown. the play was reviewed and confirmed.

people are conflating their dislike of the rule with the rule itself. it was the correct call by basically every measure. my dislike of the rule has nothing to do with the reality of the rule.

Jesse is chatty Cathy fool who constantly talks about things that are not even happening on the field as if they are big moments in the game.

He's like the Reggie Miller/Joe Theismann of CFB in that respect.

RSJ bringing the aggie gauntlet tenacity to the offensive side of the ball.

Good god man, you are about as sharp as a spatula. Your fuzzy picture proves nothing of what you are trying to say. I see a guy that led with his shoulder and the helmets came together from that. The second pick looks like a player leaning into and bracing himself to make the block.

I see this one the same way I saw the call against Deion Jones earlier this year. In my view, bad call.

Was is the "right" call based on the rule? Yes.

Is the rule subjective and never called the same way twice? Yes.

The "one and done" shite needs to be done away with. You should get a 15 yard personal foul the first time and a 15 yard personal foul and ejected the second time.

actually it does if you would just look at it, especially in the context of the video.

then you're blind because the helmets had already made contact

leaning into and bracing himself
aka, launching. he could have used multiple different techniques and not gotten flagged. why aren't any of you admitting that?

my gosh you people are making this 10 times harder than it is. basically every clued up person immediately recognized it as targeting. the people who disagree don't like the rule which is different than the rule itself.
