Texas made the final 4 for the second year in a row. Could they have won the SEC sure but they didn't. There is a massive difference in a goal and whats statistically most likely and while every team wants to win the natty only one team can. Texas will need to push through eventually but to say Texas was the most underachieving team is silly, thats just being a hater.

Texas ceiling was winning the natty, Bamas was advancing in the playoffs. Texas atleast made and won a few games in the playoffs. Bama didnt even make it and lost their final game to a team that was pretty average (we should know we beat the hell ot out them in their house).

Bama was, and to be honest if they had an efficient pocket passer they could have potentially won it all.

No. It was Bama. Texas made the Final Four and UGA won the SEC.

Maybe next time don't lose to Vandy. If anyone underachieved, it's Bama and Ole Miss by not making the playoffs.

Biggest choker? Yes. Underachiever? No. That title goes to either Ole Miss or Bama.

Seems like Texas met expectations with the talent they had

Ole Miss was 20th in talent and went 9-3.
Bama was 1st in talent and went 9-3

Truth

Truth? The truth is that Texas stockpiled a roster so deep (after it became legal to do so in the open) that they immediately rivaled the talent (and success) of Bama and Georgia after sucking perennially for a decade.

The preseason betting line for Alabama's win total going into last season was 9.5. They won 9 games. They did exactly what the oddsmakers thought they would.

...as far as win total. They definitely underachieved against Vandy, Oklahoma, and Michigan, when they were 22.5, 13.5, and 14.5 point favorites respectively. When you lose those THREE games in one season, you are a tremendous underachiever. Has any other team lost 3 games in one season when they were at least a 13.5 point favorite? The fact that they beat #2 Georgia and themselves became #1 before losing to Vandy makes the underachievement colossal.
Ole Miss is not in the discussion because they did not underachieve; they did what Ole Miss does. Some people had unrealistic expectations for them.

I know the dawgs are eligible for this discussion but they had a real schedule. With all the talent on the horns and a future top 5 pick backup QB...i expect more than a miracle wild card round victory over arizona state.

Alabama was ranked #5 preseason and finished #17
Texas was ranked #4 preseason and finished #4
Georgia was ranked #1 preseason and finished #6

Seems like it was Alabama that was most underachieving.

We played one excellent half of football all season, not to replicate it again the entire year, and that's what you're basing your conclusion on, ONE HALF of football. LOL! Okay, puppy dawg, OOOOKAY! LOL!

Make excuses all you want. An Alabama fan made this thread, now all of the Alabama fans have to eat all the crap this thread started.
