Coming from an old competitive MTB racer, this will be very cool, especially considering the elevation changes in Fayetteville and the surrounding area. Really glad money is being spent to take advantage of the topography.

Having said that, nothing about the article screams world class MTB trail, other than they put it in the title. If it's a shared-use trail (meaning bikers, hikers, runners, & adaptive bikes), it's not going to be a world class MTB trail.

The article also specifies that the entire 18 miles are beginner level. As with skiing, to be world class, you're gonna have to offer more than bunny slopes.

Love it. Just set realistic expectations up front.

I'm surprised it's not being built around the new medical school by Crystal Bridges

I hear they're even thinking of paving the roads for automobile traffic, now that the indoor plumbing is almost complete.

I ride a lot of gravel and mtb. This is nice.

It's a multiuse trail, not true piece of singletrack. But anything to help connectivity and get people outside moving.

I hate the biking community in NWA. All the roads around my house are part of biking trails. These roads have no shoulder, have steep hills and are curvy as hell and these people just ride down the middle of the road at slow speeds and most of the time you can’t pass them because there are blind curves and hills you can’t see over. I’ve seen 3 accidents caused by bikers just on this one hill near my street where people try to pass them and end up getting struck head on by people coming over the hill. I almost never take the back way to Bella Vista and Missouri anymore because all those backroads have been taken over by groups of bikers. You can get stuck behind these groups for half an hour at points because of all the steep curves. They’re so entitled they don’t even pull off to the side and waive you through they’ll just ignore long lines of cars behind them.

Yeah that's cool and all, but does your campus have a river running through it?

Open sewers don't count, Aggie.

Wasted money. Spend it on offensive and defensive lineman. No priorities.
If Arkansas really wanted to they could probably buy any player they wanted. Can anyone compete with Wal-Mart money?

Just another bike trail for the homeless to live on and commit crimes.

Jesus, Fayetteville has become a libtard haven.

Very true, also apparently Alice is buying Washington Regional to be the school's rotation affliation. Not contracting for the spots, but buying the hospital.

We've all been to a fake mall that's built to look like a town, and we've all been to College Station, which looks worse than that, and has 7 trees that were planted 4 years ago

It is annoying that those who have switched to working from home are always out biking and slowing down those still trying to get to the office in the morning. Either that or they just aren't working at 8:00 on a Wednesday for whatever reason. And now they have their own stoplights at crosswalks that take entirely too long to turn off so you're sitting there waiting 30 seconds after the biker is on the other side of the road.

Good lord son,

You need to start throwing shite at us. That is the motorist's role in this deal.

Best thing I ever got hit with was a cassette tape of Barry Manilow's greatest hits. Dude was going the opposite direction and he nailed me in the chest with the edge of the cassette tape. I thought been shot. So I turned around to see what it was. Saw it was Barry Manilow and the only thing I regret is I didn't get to give props to the guy.

The Waltons don't care for sports unless it deals with bike trails or art then they are in. The only Walton that was involved was Bud Walton.

The Tyson and Hunt families are mostly true Arkansans and they have been doing the heavy lifting.

The designation of "world class" applies to the design and construction, not the degree of difficulty. And this loop connects with a course that has been used for Olympic trials recently.
