TLDR: Lawrence was never close to winning this award in any season, and shouldn't have been handed it as some "career achievement award"

This. How can anyone overlook this?

Writer didn’t even detail the disdain for Dabo. Some evidence or context would be nice.

Lawrence finished 2nd in the Heisman despite having an inferior season to the other 2 QB finalists.

A lot of Alabama fans have been “processed” to think like Saban over the last 14 years.

Clemson got a similar thing going where they’ve all been “aw shucks gee golly poor lil ol’ clemson” by Dabo.

It is pretty odd that Trevor Lawrence is going to leave as one of the more decorated players in college football as he's about to be drafted No. 1 overall, and in all three years he was never really a contender at all for the Heisman.

Joe Willie Namath did OK as the first pick of the AFL draft. And by the way, they also drafted the Notre Dame QB that won the Heisman that year, John Huarte. Broadway Joe went to the HOF, the ND QB couldn't make it off the taxi squad, and was traded the next season.

Dabo does become way more intolerable when he isn’t winning

Clemson is a playoff team in a mid-major conference. Lawrence should have CRUSHED the QB record books.

He didn't.

Lawrence is OK. Just OK.

I'd say it's more Dumbo, I mean Dabo, fatigue than Clemson fatigue...

Trevor Lawrence's ability to fail in big games is what cost him the Heisman.

The best is the FL fans complaining Trask did not win despite looking horrible against LSU and Oklahoma. I think he is still throwing picks

I was hoping the top 3 vote getters would be Bama’s big 3. But they probably canceled out each other’s votes.

People talk about Bama fatigue. How about Clempson fatigue? In what universe, does Sunshine finish ahead of Mac?

Lawrence finished too high if anything. He wouldn't have even been on my ballot.
