Saban is obviously not afraid of playing Tennessee every year.

When Bama has a schedule that doesn't include Georgia State and Chattanooga on it, then we might start believing Saban wants to "make the conference better"

I'm sure everyone is looking forward to the FAU and Western Carolina games next year as well

You mean like Sam Houston State, South Carolina State, and La. Tech? This is a laugh, coming from an Aggie fan. aTm played not one but two...that's right, two...FCS teams last year.

What many don't realize is that the reason so many SEC teams played FCS teams on Nov. 17 last year is that all the other conferences...Sunbelt, C-USA, etc....were playing in-conference games. That's one reason why a ninth game is needed. There isn't anyone else to play that weekend.

I'm well aware of our schedule (and I'm not happy about it). But I'm not on here saying we're trying to "better the conference." We're doing what we feel is in our best interest. I hate it. But at least we aren't hypocrites about it

The hell you're not. aTm played TWO FCS teams last year. By voting for the ninth game, Saban is in effect voting to eliminate the FCS games.

Let's see aTm step up and do the same thing.

The SEC will go to 9 most likely in the future.

Waiting and seeing how the CFP committee will operate before making the decision is wise though.

Oh really? Go back and look at everyone's schedules for Nov. 17 last year. Every single SEC team was playing either another SEC team or an FCS team, except Missouri, which was finishing a home and home commitment with Syracuse. Seven SEC teams played FCS teams on that day because there was literally no one else to play. Other conferences were playing in-conference games. The SEC should have been also.

It's damn hard when there's no one else to play.

We played two FCS teams last year b/c we lost Arkansas as an OOC.

Also, SMU and Rice both won bowls last year and SHSU was in the FCS title game so its not like we are playing three completely shite teams like Chattanooga, Georgia State, Colorado State.

But don't let facts get in way brah.

Considering Georgia State is a transitional team and can't even play in a bowl until 2014 Bama basically is playing two FCS teams. But they didn't lose a BCS OOC due to changing conferences like we did.

This is golden. I'm sure if he had leaned the other way, you'd be supporting that stance.

You realize ofcourse that if the large teams didn't schedule these smaller teams and give them these big paychecks for getting their shite kicked in, some would not survive.

So what you're telling us is that because you lost an OOC game in Arkansas, there were no other BCS teams to play? Seriously? That's your story?

The fact is that aTm played South Carolina State in week 4 last year...a weekend when many BCS-nonAQ teams were playing out of conference games.

You really don't know much about this whole scheduling thing, do you?

so now this is why we all play FCS? Because no one will play that weekend? Gee, wouldn't it be easier to just make it a conference weekend then? You don't need 9 games to do that (LSU-A&M is scheduled for that weekend this year). There are even 2 bye weeks to work with this year. Make that a bye week if you can't find an opponent worth a shite. You are using one of your byes on 9/7 when anyone would play. Saban decided the extra week of prep for A&M was more important than playing a real opponent.

Saban specifically said we need to go to 9-games to improve SOS. Meanwhile, he gets to hand-select opponents for 4 games a year and always selects 3 complete and total patsies. If he really believed SOS is important, he wouldn't do so. He's merely trolling you bama fans and, based on his actions rather than words, probably even voted against this since it wasn't a public vote.

What kind of bs half truth is this shite? You know damn well the only reason those all happened around the same time is every SEC school likes to have a late season breather. There is nothing forcing any school to play an OOC game so late in the year.

Every other conference gets most of their OOC out of the way early unless it's a rivalry game. Get outta here with that lame arse logic. The only justifiable excuse for getting stuck with shite teams is b/c somebody canceled on you or b/c you join a new conference with a team that was one of your OOC games.

Otherwise NOTHING forces you to schedule an FCS team that late in the year. SEC schools do it because THEY WANT TO, not because they have to.

This is a really stupid excuse for playing a second FCS team, when the fact is that lots of BCS non-AQ teams were playing out of conference that weekend.

Seriously...this is the best excuse you guys can come up with?

9 sec games would definitely improve SOS.
