Brent Venables.

I think he is a better DC than Kirby. And he is a recruiting fool. Most important is that he will find a first-rate OC.

You just want to weaken Clemson.

This is the mistake people make when looking for coordinators to make the move to HC.

You aren't hiring a coordinator. It's a totally different job. Kirby was a good fit at UGA for a lot of reasons, mostly unrelated to being able to call a good defense.

Think about it. Kirby added to Bama and while he is top-tier, Venables built the Taters.

Not true. A loss to Tennessee, an Eastern SEC team, hurts a lot worse.

I disagree, solely because of recruiting purposes

You can lose one SEC game and still control your own destiny

Only get one chance per year against your in State rival.

I think he stays at Clemson until Bill Snyder leaves KSU.

Agree, DC and HC are two different animals. He would fail.

So he shouldn't get any shot at all? How do you know for sure he would fail?

Venables wouldn't leave Clemson for UTk. Downvote all you'd like but it's true.

Snyder's contract runs out this year, unless he has signed an extension. At 78, it's probably time to start thinking about retirement.

Totally agree, assuming three things: 1) Carolina was talking to his agent 2) Richt missed out on Watson 3) Kirby has an excellent television presence, in my opinion the best since Vince. As is should, Georgia acted. Took guts, in my opinion, because Richt was a good coach.
