Have to be decent if they can run the ball well. I see it as 60/40 game in ou’s favor. It will be interesting to see ou’s new qb and how their defensive front matches against Tennessee OL. JG is awful and I could see him throwing late pick 6 to seal it for sooners

OU lost a lot of starters and is breaking in a new QB (who most believe is not nearly as good as their previous few). They obviously didn’t get a spring practice and that is great for us.

Vols return experience pretty much everywhere so we get the benefit of already having a somewhat cohesive team and starting Qb, and we play them in the 2nd game of the season.

Most on here will write us off because of OUs recent success and vols suck durrrr but I think this has the potential to be a really good game. And if the VOLS win, watch that national hype train go from 0-60 very very fast

If garbage Gauntanomo is QB, they have zero shot.

Vols improved during the year. I do now know what the Vols lost in terms of talent. I think they can play with the Sooners but will lose close.

I'll be interested to see how much of a dog the vols are in this game as I think they not only cover but can win the game.As long as Guarentano limits his mistakes.

OU wins comfortably but I think UT makes it a pretty good game for the first 3Q/early 4th Q. UT really improved a lot towards the 2nd half of last year and showed some good fight

I don’t expect a W but I think we can keep it competitive

Rattler was the No. 1 QB In his class.

Improved from losing to Ga. State and BYU to a one point win over Indiana. Tenner loses experience on D and their QB situation is not good. OU will score lots of points. Can Tenner keep up?

Will be hard for Tennessee to win a game that gets cancelled IMO

OU is going in dry

They have a ton coming back plus Rattler is the number 1 player in his class and the first QB recruited by Riley. He’s already a top 5 Heisman favorite and everything I’ve read from the OU writers is that he could be the best OU QB in the last 10 years.

They won’t miss a beat plus I expect the defense to be better in year 2 of Grinch

They are still the early odds favorite in all 12 of their games and I expect the Tennessee line to be -10-12

I think Pruitt will have that Vol defense ready to play and they keep it really close most of the game before OU has a couple of explosive plays to put it out of reach in the 4th.

What?

He was the #1 QB in the nation. A lot of Oklahoma fans wanted him to start over Hurts because of his elite passing ability.

So was Blake Barnett, Brock Berlin, Jeff Driskel and Max Browne.

Yeah they’re probably the first fans ever to love the back up QB. That never happens...

Also Hurts scored 50 TDs and was the runner up the the Greatest Heisman Winner Ever.

Most popular player on the team is the backup qb unless your name is Burrow. There isn't one fan who really knows how good the OU qb will be. Garbage time vs starter is a different paradigm altogether.

Vols win. They might have the best o line in the SEC when all is said and done.

I smell an upset and Pruitt's first big win.

VOLS should have a pretty salty defense this annum. Dare I say even borderline elite perhaps. Probably should have the advantage there with Oklahoma breaking in a young quarterback imo

I could 100% see Tennessee playing well only to blow this game late in typical VOLS fashion with Geronimo doing something stupid
