Sam ain't stupid. He knows he will likely not have a NFL career, so he might as well use shock value to start endearing himself to the media and other liberal venues. From his standpoint it was a smart move to dry hump a dude on national TV > Oprah, book deals, 60 minute excerpts, etc.

Ah yeah I've seen people do that with cake at weddings and such. Guess some do it to celebrate.

So Tebow.. he knew he wasn't gonna have a career as an NFL QB so he started indoctrinating us all with conservative Jesus-freak values. From his standpoint it was smart to skull-frick a religious figure on national TV and ride that holy zombie all the way to Oprah, book deals, 60 minutes and the conservative Church circuit.

I know this isn't going to be a particularly popular sentiment, but I think it's kind of nice. The guy is getting emotional over what would be, for any of us nattering fans, one of the biggest moments in life. Nothing bad there. How would you react if you'd spent most of your life training and preparing for the highest possible level of your chosen profession and you made it? I mean, seriously, the guy just learned he was going to play in the N-fricking-FL.

Nobody is criticizing the emotion or crying. Hell I don't even mind the embracing and the first kiss. But when you start broadcasting the guy smearing cake on his boyfriend's face and then repeatedly kissing him, it's overkill.

Of all the girlfriends they showed with the draftees, Sam had the ugliest.

WAIT...maybe Sam is the girlfriend and the other dude is the boyfriend.

damn white dude will get taken to pound town tonight.

Unfortunately that mental image is now in my mind.

Maybe Sam will take the pound from the BF...that image is a little more palatable. I
when I think about it.

And if it had been a guy doing it with his girlfriend, this thread would never have happened because nobody would care enough to call it overkill.

I dunno. I don't get why it upsets some people so much. Maybe it's just the Southerner in me saying that gay people never did anything to me (which is more than I can say about some straight people I've known), so I see no reason to get riled up at them. Who cares if some gay football player gets all affectionate with his boyfriend? It's no different form some straight football player getting all affectionate with his girlfriend, and it impacts my -- and your life -- not a whit.

I wonder if maybe all the people who weren't turned off by it are at least a little gay? Like maybe 5-10%?

Tebow cries every one makes fun of the guy, this princess cries with his little skinny white(that's getting hammered tonight) hero and we celebrate him. Society is pretty screwed up today.

Seriously, that was ridiculous. Kind of like if Junior was drafted and they showed him crying and kissing Lulu.
