that's what my Dad always said about QB's playing against Arkansas

Allowing practice hits on qb is insane

There is basically no possible way he'll be at 100%. He had an ACL tear less than 8 months ago. It will be impressive if he plays at all, but you can count on your hands the amount of times someone has effectively come back so soon from an ACL tear.
I tore my MCL and ACL back in the 80's in highschool. Played the next year no problems. I know it was only highschool but operations and physical therapy has come a long ways in 40 years.

If the roles were reversed, Florida would be trying to find an excuse to push this game back.

Nah, we'd just give up a home game and play them at their place. Then beat them at their place on short notice, something like that.

And yet it is rare for someone to be back within 8 months even with those advances

I was 15 when it happened. They had to reconstruct my knee and put a screw through the knee to hold everything in place. Happened in Oct and by July, I was backpacking for two weeks in the Tetons of Wyoming. But I did work my arse off and it was numb for over a year.

While a 9 month recovery time is impressive, your story is anecdotal. We have hundreds of ACL tears recently to reflect on. It almost never heals so quickly.
Yes, sometimes you have guys like Adrian Peterson who look like nothing happen within 7 months, but that is exceedingly rare.

No idea if Rising utilized this new med technology, but some Euro soccer pros are getting back inside of 5 months.

I think Utah is still better. They've been a good team the last 2 years while we've sucked.
Hoping we get better as the year plays out. This defintely makes things easier though.
Beating them won't count for much to most but I'd still consider it a good win especially going across the country to play week 1.

The link says undisclosed injury, where the frick you get lacerated liver? That's the hardest thing in your whole body to lacerate.

“Conclusions
SARS-CoV-2 vaccination can be associated with liver injury. Corticosteroid therapy may be beneficial in those with immune-mediated features or severe hepatitis. Outcome was generally favorable, but vaccine-associated liver injury led to fulminant liver failure in one patient.“

Not saying it was the shot, but not ruling it out as a contributing factor.
