My point is.. coaches can get better. Sark did some good things at UDub, and Petersen used that success to do quite well there.

7-6 in 2010
7-6 in 2011
7-6 in 2012
8-4 in 2013
He did well enough to get the USC job..
9-4 in 2014
3-2 in 2015 when he got fired..
The guy is a good coach. TBD if he can be great.

They are comparable jobs.
Michigan State was 0-11 in 1994 before Saban..
Washington was 0-12 in 2008 before Sark..
Everyone thought Saban was good, but not the GOAT that he is today..

My point is that even the GOAT wasn’t the GOAT his whole career.. good coaches can become great coaches.. and Sark is a good coach imo. He is an elite OC.. but can he be a great HC?
