I'll admit, all things being equal, I'd prefer not to poach an AD from another SEC school.
But I'll trade my altruism for success in the SEC any day. If Hyman is the best candidate we can obtain, he must be had.

Great hire for SC if they pull it off. But Bill Byrne is getting paid for doing nothing at the moment, so he might ride that wave for a while.

Yes, it's frowned upon in the SEC as a lateral move...unless there is extenuating circumstances(moving home, etc...)
VERY few head coaches have done this under Slive. None in football, I don't know of any in basketball, and just Cohen in baseball that I can think of. AD's rarely jump laterally as well...
The last time an SEC team poached a popular football HC from another was when Tuberville left Oxford for Auburn 14 years ago...
