They hired the defensive coaching staff from hell this off-season, I'll give them that. The administration and boosters apparently are all in.

I think part of the deal was USC had paid for his house before he got on the plane. That’s probably the bulk of the “other reportable” pay

I went and looked at their defensive staff after you said this.. and while I had only heard of 1 person.. their resumes are freaking loaded.. mostly NFL dudes with major skins on the wall.

It will be interesting to see how he does in a tough conference with some cold weather games. They were a missed 2 pt conversion by California from going 0-6 down the stretch last year with a returning Heisman winner QB.

So far, Lincoln hasn't come close to Oklahoma glory. Year 3 and if his defenses play like the last 2 seasons, he's a goner. So he has no choice but to get it right.
The trouble has always been that his offenses are the type that still doesn't do any defense a favor, regardless of personnel or coaches. You have to have some sort of TOP in your offense or you are going to gas these guys in the 4th quarter. Riley, better learn that lesson sooner than later. He's going to have to play to his defense for the first time in his career.

Their attention span is pretty short though. If they are not winning now, the money guys get distracted with something else. That is LA and sports in a nutshell.
