Ummm, 2001 Miami outscored 5 top 15 teams;

Miami-236
5 top 15 teams-72

Average margin of victory against 5 top 15 teams=32.8, the one close game was on the road in Blacksburg-sub 50 degrees, winds 10-15, the other semi close game was on the road against BC, 50 degrees, mostly cloudy winds 15-25

Anyone who says Miami was not one of the best National Championship teams this century is just hating on the U

That AU team wasn't anything special and it took a fake punt with AU up 21-3 for this "all-time great" FSU team to get back in the game. If AU stopped them they would've gotten the ball in FSU territory and likely would've scored again and been on their way to a rout.

Let's be honest. Auburn had FSU's offensive signals the whole first half. Kelvin Benjamin even yelled out that Dameyune Craig was calling all their plays. Once they started covering up with a simple towel, FSU took off. Stupid by FSU but the game should not have been that close.

Yeah that happens to a lot of great championship teams, unless you're 1995 Nebraska.

Played in the last season of the shitty Big 8 conference. Faced “Top Ten” Kansas, Kansas State and Colorado that Osborne was 71-3-1 against in 25 years. Did not face the Switzer, Miami and Florida State defenses that routinely shut his offense down in the ‘70s, ‘80s and early ‘90s. Gets too much credit for running over a Florida defense with no players drafted above the 3rd round in the next three drafts.

2005 Texas didn't have the most impressive regular season, but that was a team of destiny. I'm not picking them to lose against anyone. We won the Big 12 championship 70-3 that year

Actually hold up, some of the games I'm thinking of were from 2004. 2005 was a dominant year.

List is garbage. 8 teams below 2013 FSU would have murdered them in a title game match-up.

LSU 2003 should be middle of the list somewhere. That defense was stout.

I fricking LOVE that Hurricanes team. Don’t give a shite how many rules they broke or what the players were being paid, that team straight BALLED OUT. Ed Reed, Jeremy Shockey, Andre Johnson, Clinton Portis….Jesus Christ they were stacked.

I get they were different years but didn't 2004 USC return basically the whole team that 2005 Texas beat.

2021 Georgia needs to be ranked a lot lower bc there are only 2-3 teams on that list that got their arse kicked by someone. It may be the largest margin loss of any team on that list.

It makes 0 sense whatsoever that 2020 Bama gets so much respect. It is easily the most inflated national champion of all time.

The Covid season literally decimated pre-season practices — giving huge advantages to offenses. See the 2011 NFL season when the off-season practices were cancelled due to the lockout ; 3 of the top 10 all time passing yards in a season were set in 2011, the average passing yards per game by teams was shattered, and Aaron Rodgers set the all time NFL QBR in a season. Cam Newton threw for 850 yards in his first two rookie games.

Defenses are at a huge disadvantage when you throw away pre-season practices. The advantage goes to the most veteran and talented teams which was Bama. Throw in the fact that multiple players opted out, teams forfeited seasons, The SEC as a league overall has its worst record in years, the scheduled was shortened, and they beat A frickING 8 WIN TEAM IN THE NATIONAL TITLE — it is absolutely insane that anyone considers 2020 Bama one of the best teams of all time.

Did an FSU grad write this? You’d have a better argument putting them at 22 than 4.

I would take 2010 Auburn with Cam Newton over any of those national championship teams

I’d bet most of my possessions on 2019 LSU in that game.

Can’t really argue with that 01 Miami team though… it’s absolutely absurd how many NFL stars were on that one team.

Say what you want about 2007 LSU but props for surviving and winning in the most chaotic season in CFB history.
