I wonder if Pearl stays clean this season if Arkansas goes ahead and hires him. I would be ok with it.

Sweet 16 is an accomplishment but it's not winning something. Again, you have had almost the same number of tournament appearances as Arkansas has in the final four.
You're referencing tournament appearances, Sweet 16s and final fours as accomplishments, while in the same sentence saying it's not winning anything.
You should just stop while you're ahead.. in tournament appearances.

They have had success in the sport.
I mean I know Auburn has been bad historically, but I don't feel like previous success is really an inhibitor to winning in basketball. Look at Butler a few years back.

Well.. where did they go?

I'm saying they are special. It's certainly the pinnacle of auburn basketball. But you are somehow saying that one sweet 16 appearance and no other post season NCAA tournament trumps multiple NCAAT appearance and multiple 2nd round in that same span. It's just not the case. Auburn currently holds a record for tournament drought. That is just all around bad. And also what makes what Pearl is doing at such a terrible program to be all the more special. He's a great coach.

They are on our roster. We don't have a coach like Pearl is the issue lol.

He would realize the same thing Gus did.. he has a better chance of winning big at Auburn.

I felt the exact same way about Petrino but our AD was too pridefull.

Ok.. he said Arkansas produced talent. I just needed confirmation as to what type. Thanks. We'll recruit Atlanta. Good luck

And I don't think having your first decent season in 15 years as an indicator either. It's about venue, prestige and geography. Auburn just doesn't have any of those. They aren't a program where success in basketball can happen.

I agree with most/all of what you said. Obviously Arky has a better b-ball program. Auburn fans are just excited to have something to be excited about. We could see it coming the past few years with the energy BP has brought to the program, but we haven't had a consistent enough roster to make a go of it. Now it looks like we're loaded for the next few years at least, and it's awesome.
That being said, I think we drop a couple of games here in the next few weeks. The SEC is definitely up this year.
EDIT:
Don't agree with this, and it's dumb to think this. If we pay people enough they will come/we're right next to Atlanta. Plus, we have Charles Barkley, who is a huge advocate for Auburn and gives us exposure all of the time.

I guess auburn has just waited 100 years on this for other reasons lol

Well, if you go by the "basketball schools that haven't had an SEC title in 23 years" as an indicator, we seem to be trending.

A school like Kansas can only check 1 of those boxes.
We have a great venue to play games and Pearl has improved the atmosphere. We are close to Atlanta and Florida.
We will likely never have the prestige.

Some Arkansas fans on here are straight fools.. I like Pio and a few others but what was once The Flagship with clever, interesting sails has turned into sour grapes ever since they hit the iceberg known as Gus Malzahn and now, Bruce Pearl apparently. #Shipwreck

Apparently Auburn is the new Kentucky for making the postseason the 1st time in 15 years. I'm sorry for not knowing that.

Sheesh, this is really bothering you, isn't it? Pearl has been recruiting well, has energy as high as it's been since Barkley, AU has nice facilities and an arena, while small, is hostile for opposing fans, and sits roughly an hour from Atlanta. There are ingredients there for a respectable program with a few years of national exposure. Alabama has also been producing some good talent recently.
