Pearl is just crooked plain and simple. If he weren't such a liability he wouldn't be at Auburn.
Horace Spencer - Cincinnati and UGA offers
Mustapha Heron - Kansas and UCLA
Jared Harper - KState and Ole Miss
Bryce Brown - Kennesaw State, FIU, and Charlotte offers
Anfernee McLemore - OK State and South Carolina
Davion Mitchell - Florida, UGA, UConn and Louisville

What has your basketball program done since 2003? Let's list it out:
5 tournament appearances, 0 SEC titles, 0 Sweet 16s, 0 Elite 8's, 0 Final Fours, and 0 National Championships.
In the grand scheme of things, looks like Arkansas hasn't done anything since 2003 either

Just be real. You're upset Auburn is dominating.. and you're wondering why/how it isn't you guys instead.

Pretty sure we went to the Sweet 16 in 03 as well, so it looks like we've been there more recently than Arkansas too. Weird

By our standards that's true. By a program that considers themself a basketball school is also true. It's well below what we expect.
But by Auburn standards it is damn close to their best run in program history. You are at an SEC record. This may perhaps be an all-around record for a P5 program. No NCAAT appearance since 2003 is truly remarkable.

How odd. We've had more meaningful success recently than their storied program

Deflect, deflect deflect. Only way it makes you feel better about the horrid state of Arkansas basketball

Yes it was a good season for you. This will probably be a good season for you as well. But you have 2 more tournament appearances than Arkansas has appearances in the Final Four lol. Your drought is an SEC record that may never be matched again. If anyone deserves this season, it's Auburn .

Well that's just not true. But I don't get the hostility. I've congratulated Auburn several times now lol. All I've done is point out the fact that you hold an SEC record and possibly a NCAA P5 record for NCAAT drought. So Pearl is COY and Auburn deserves some praise for being the kind of program they are and put this season together. Y'all stop being so defensive.

Last time Auburn won the SEC in basketball was 1999..
Last time Arkansas won the SEC in basketball was 1995..

Auburn is dominating, while Arkansas is floundering.. i get it.

Arkansas played for a National title that season. It was a good year. I'm sure auburn had a good year in 99. Auburn is having a great year now too. Certainly better than Arkansas. And for what Pearl is doing at Auburn deserves COY. No matter what he does in the tourney, just being there is proven to be a huge deal for them.

Not really floundering. We are a lock NCAA T just like Auburn. But it's a big deal bc Auburn is holding onto a record for NCAAT drought. So to have a season likenthis at a program like Auburn deserves more praise than it would at any other SEC school.

Could've fooled us.. lol. Arkansas hasn't won anything since Monica Lewinsky was serving Wild Bill in the oval office.

I just don't get this. Arkansas has done something 5 times that Auburn has not done since. I really should look if Auburn is at a P5 NCAA record bc they are certainly at an SEC record for tourney drought. This is something that will never be matched again in SEC play. Again, Auburn and Pearl deserve serious praise. Auburn has not been in the NCAAT since 2003. What they are doing for being the worst program in SEC history is remarkable. That's why I said it's like Vandy being on top in football.

Nothing you can say can hurt any Auburn fans feels. As you have pointed out a few times in this thread we have been shite for a while. Nothing you can post can add to that. Just let us have our fun while we can.

Auburn is a football school so I doubt they care that much about hoops. They are certainly one of the best in that sport. But they are the worst bball program in the SEC, so to be at the top in the latter is remarkable. I think they finish the season in the SEC top 3 as well. I wish them the best in the NCAAT.

OM is traditionally the worse. We are #2 on that list. Get it straight.

Watching Auburn and Arkansas fans arguing about who is better at basketball is comical...carry on. :snicker:

That's not the argument. Having almost as many final fours as tournament appearances ends that abruptly. The argument really is if Bruce Pearl is the best active coach in the NCAA considering what's he's doing at the worst SEC program.
