South Carolina is a great example of this. They probably aren't a top 8 program at the moment.

South Carolina in the last 11 years:
8 NCAA Tourney Appearances
6 Regional Winners
3 Super Regional Winners
1 Runner Up Finish
2 Championships

Tennessee in the last 11 Years
2 NCAA Tourney Appearances
1 Regional Winners
1 Super Regional Winners
0 Runner Up Finish
0 Championships

That’s not even comparable imo..

That being said, Tennessee Baseball with Vitello does look very promising if they can keep him..

South Carolina was national runner up twice in the 1970's, went to Omaha 3 times in the 1980's, 3 times in the 2000's and won 2 titles and was national runner up in the 2010's. We've been a top tier baseball program for 50 years.

Thank God for Bobby Richardson. He built it.

I think State is the 2nd most historical baseball program in the SEC, even above South Carolina

This a joke right? you win one and think youre the second best in the SEC ever.

If you do this by SEC championships, then Alabama is top 4 or so. Aside from LSU, Alabama has more combined regular season and SEC tournament titles than any other school. Alabama also has more total wins than any other SEC program.

are you talking tournament championships? just curious?

if so those are basically home games for you.

You are still missing the point. Tennessee at this point in time feels like the more appealing destination than South Carolina. Momentum is the number 1 indicator in a current rankings. You are too stuck on numbers from a decade ago. Those championships arent doing USC any favors right now. There is nothing in USC’s program today that has any relation to those teams 10 years ago

Take a screenshot of your baseball programs achievements on wiki and assign each tier points.

NC- 100(1)= 100
NCRUp- 50(1)= 50
CWS- 20(12)= 240
Supers-10(16)= 160
NCAAT- 2(39)= 78
Conference Tourney- 5(7)= 35
Conference champions- 15(17) = 255

Miss State= 918

Edited to give more weight to a NC. Had it at 50 but changed it to 100

Isn't this thread about "historical" rankings? Not current rankings?

It is, but its pretty much run it's course. Big Bro did a pretty good job putting together the numbers historically.
