Never mind. You were referring to Tennessee and not Alabama it seems.

LSU is number two especially since uga doesn’t play bama every year

Give it up, dude. Everybody plays hard teams. The "We play Alabama every year!" argument just seems petty.

Why on earth would you want to pare it down to 20 years? I mean there is some room to argue LSU is the better program historically without trying to cherry pick.

We don't care if you want to discuss it or not. I'm not sure why you would think you are the gate to discussion.

Deer lowered. Our fans are becoming like LSU fans. Must be something about taking that no. 2 mantel.

If Southern football hadn’t gotten slighted by the national sportswriters for decades those AP numbers would be even more impressive.

Also, your list just illustrates why the SEC is such a meatgrinder.

Good topic.

You could argue over who is #2 but I think Kirby will pull away and make it more of a stretch in the coming years. UGA is a really solid program currently.

Ftr, I would still give LSU the nod for #2, but it's getting very very close.

it is very very close, but i would put uga #2 now slightly.

but its pretty clear to me their are 4 teirs in the big 6

1- bama- everyones daddy unfortunately

2-uga & lsu

3- UT

4- uf/auburn

question becomes where does ut and ou fit when they join. imo

1- bama

2- ou, uga, lsu

3- UT/UT

4- AU/UF

My only nitpick is that OU should be by themselves at number 2 once they join. They are in that very short list of programs (along with ND, USC, Ohio State, and Michigan) that are in the mix for second-best program of all time nationally.

agreed, and don't see how anyone could argue otherwise. I guess the only ever so slight argument would be UT being lumped in with uga/lsu but that's splitting hairs. The main point is that AU/UF clearly make up the bottom of the big 6.

What a dilemma. Win a three-peat and the wait extends to 123 years. Pick your poison...

I just looked at the comparison on Winsipedia, and you are right. It's so close that maybe we can say they are tied. I didn't realize they were so close to be honest.

Looks right. Florida and Auburn are slipping badly right now. Maybe they can right the ship and climb back up to UT tier. Tennessee turned it around this year. The hard part will be to sustain the turnaround.

This looks like as good of a breakdown as any.

Alabama is #1 in pretty much every metric so I left them out.

Sorry but that's a weak move to make uga look better in these lists. If you're going to make a list, make a list.

It’s me/pay/ou/usc fighting for 2nd imo

And I agree with you to an extent…sure they have made the playoffs a lot but they have gotten their arse kicked anytime they have played for something meaningful since 2000. 22 years since last championship and they really have gotten rocked other than 03(game wasn’t as close as the score) & 2016.

I just have a hard time putting a team like them above LSU & uga when they have been playing in a dog shite conference and have gotten their teeth kicked in out of conference
