Here's what Winsipedia says.

9. UGA
10. LSU
11. Tennessee
14. Florida
16. A&M
17. Auburn

For pretty much the entire history of the SEC UT was the #2 program, and often times there wasn't even a discussion. After going now nearly 20 years of being "down" that is no longer the case IMO.

Works both ways.

Florida was terrible at football but 30 years put them up on your lists

According to who, though? A rival fan on a message board? Winsipedia says 6.
FWIW, I'm not questioning UGA having 4. Any claim before the BCS is fair game.

And no one but Georgia fans recognizes your 1942 title. LSU has 4. UGA and UF have 3. AU and UT have 2.
LSU has 4 and that isn't including 1908 which we should claim for a 5th.

Well this is what happens when people start throwing around mythical national title claims.

I agree. Should either be 3 for UGA and 2 for UT or 6 for UT and 8 for UGA.

Where would 8 come from?

LSU is number two especially since uga doesn’t play bama every year
In last 20 years
LSU 3-1 natty games
uga 2-1
Win one more and we will discuss

Not obsessed. Just fascinated byTennessee's fans' inflated sense of place in college football. Take away the 90s, and you are basically Ole Miss. Really good during segregation and not so much after that.

Important to keep in mind that Georgia had to win 2 playoff games to win their two national championships. Also important to keep in mind that LSU was a split national champion in 2003 and lost to Kentucky and Arkansas in 2007,

Here are 2 of UT’s claimed titles. I didn’t look at all of them but these two are extremely dubious.

1967 (#1 Litkenhous selector) #2 UT Lost to AP #3 OU and AP #1 USC won their game.
1940 (#1 Dunkel, Williamson selectors) #4 UT lost to #5 Boston college and AP designated Minnesota national champions before bowl season.

Recognized National Titles UGA/LSU - 4 Florida - 3 Tennessee - 2/3ish Auburn- 2

LSU actually has 5 NCAA recognized National Championships. For whatever stupid reason LSU refuses to list the 1908 title.

Tulane claimed they paid players that year, but it was never proven and that’s why the NCAA recognizes it.

UGA is clearly the number 2 team in the SEC historically.

Dude. This is a thread about the BIG 6 minus Alabama. Why in the world do you think he aimed this at Tennessee? You do know that the entire world does not revolve around Tennessee, right?

Seems like a stretch for you to think this is aimed at Tennessee.

ETA
I think a Georgia fan could start a thread about it raining outside and you would think it was a swipe at Tennessee.

I have a link that shows the NCAA recognizes Georgia with 8 titles, but the school only claims 4.

Ftr, I would still give LSU the nod for #2, but it's getting very very close.
