I told y'all last offseason that you'd be living off 2010 for the next decade. My prediction is slowly coming to pass.

I agree with this. I thought this what he should have done to begin with because if he got a decent coach, he would be fricking over another program by stealing him at a really crappy part of the offseason.

This way he can get what he wants and get it without causing more than the usual hard feelings involved.

Plus, any coach you get at this point, you have to worry down the line. "He fricked over U of So&So at the worst possible time of the offseason, who's to say he isnt a merc and wont do it to us too."

This, they need to keep continuity instead of bringing in a new HC that would want all new personnel.

I wouldn't say for a certainty that any member of the Petrino family has the same daddy.

Which is probably a hindrance at this point.

Representatives told us that Jeff Long has made the decision that having a full process after the season was better for all parties involved....adding that asking any current head coach to take this position at this time wasn't the right thing to do.

By far the smartest thing to do.

There are two routes to go here:

Panic mode with short term thinking only ie Bama post Mike Price and hire Mike Shula and suffer mediocrity for 4 years before hiring a Great coach

OR

Calm, cool, and think long-term ie Ohio State and promote within and wait until after the season when the pool of candidates is high and make a good long-term hire.

Arkansas will make a very good hire after the 2012 season and be the best for it long-term by making this choice.

That really sucks for Tyler Wilson. I hope Petrino never works at a major school again. All the bs aside, this dude fricked over a lot of people.

I was worried about the Arkansas game before. Now as long as LSU beats Alabama we'll be in the BCSNCG. The luck of Lester Miles never ceases to amaze me

I won't edit it. It must be saved for posterity because I'm usually good with spelling and grammar.

would've sucked worse for him if a new coach with a new staff and a new offense was hired this close to the season starting.

mcgee was only considered a candidate so the current staff would stay together. interim gives the same results without having to commit to an unproven HC. it's the right choice.

Did you read the rest of my post? Yes, losing Petrino affects our season.

Hiring a new coach right now as opposed to an interim will not make a difference this year.

Yea if Wilson had known Petrino would frick him over, he would have entered the draft and been a top 10 pick. Instead he will spend a tumultuous season at Arkansas not knowing how this coaching change will affect his stats.

If tyler has a good season this year without petrino i think that would actually help him in the eyes of the scouts. I still dont think we'll suck all of a sudden with wilson, knile, cobi, and gragg though...but we might drop another game or two

I think you may be seriously underestimating the Rebel Bears of Ole Miss. I mean really, going by the law of averages, they HAVE to be due by now right?

I only pay attention to 10% of what women have to say. But in any case, Ark is fricked relative to what they could have done
